My MCU: Black Panther

My MCU: Black Panther

A story and fan cast to launch my own Marvel Cinematic Universe. In my MCU, I tried to use lesser used characters, so you won’t be seeing Iron Man or Captain America here. It starts with the Black Panther, and I have the next characters ready to go from there. So enjoy my take on the King of Wakanda!

To launch my Marvel Cinematic Universe, i introduce my version of the Black Panther! I know there's a lot of MCU's, but in mine i used lesser used characters, so no Iron Man or Captain America here, and it doesn't lead to the Avengers. It does lead to a team up movie, but we'll get to that when all the characters have been introduced.

So, i'll start with the fan cast - and as usual - no hate comments please!

Anthony Mackie - T'Challa aka Black Panther

Mostly known from "The Hurt Locker", and i think that he would be great in the role of Black Panther. I decided to use a younger T'Challa, since that is the age he is at in this movie. I also saw him in The Adjustment Bureau, and i thought he had a great performance in it, and this helped make me decide to cast him in the main role of the Black Panther!

Djimon Hounsou - S'yan

He's mostly cast as T'Challa, but i think that in this version he'd be a little old for the main role. I think he'd still be able to be a part of the movie and be great in the role of T'Challa's uncle, which is a very important role to the first movie.

Zoe Saldana - Ororo Munroe

Was in Avatar, and did amazing and had a real breakthrough performance. I think she'd be able to pull of the role of Ororo, who later becomes Storm, and Black Panther's wife.

DB Woodside - White Wolf

I've seen him cast in the role in a few other Black Panther fan casts, and it's hard not to agree. White Wolf is the antagonist in the first movie, and also T'Challa's brother. I think DB would be able to easily pull of Hunter aka White Wolf.

Denzel Washington - T'Chaka

I realize the odds of getting a big name actor like him for a supporting role are pretty small, but i can't help but think he'd be the perfect T'Chaka. Although it's a small role, it plays a huge part in the Black Panther series.

Vincent Cassel - Ulysses Klaw

He seems to have emerged as the fan favourite for the role, and i can't agree more. Klaw is the archnemesis of the Black Panther, and although he isn't in the first film THAT much, he will play an integral part to the series and Vincent could be great in the role!

Steven Blum as the voice of Bast the Panther God

He is most known as a voice actor, and he voiced Noir Vulture in Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, and Killer Croc in Arkham Asylum. I think he'd be able to be Bast, who determines whether warriors are worthy or not to lead their tribes, in this case, T'Challa.

Now that the fan cast is completed, here's the outline for the Black Panther movie.

In this version Wakanda isn't as advanced as it ends up becoming. It is a growing place, and although they don't have much technology, they still have simple things such as TV. Ok, now we're ready - for the Black Panther!

THE BLACK PANTHER

Starring Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker) Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Djimon Hounsou (In America, Blood Diamond), plus Denzel Washington, Vincent Cassel and DB Woodside, “Black Panther” is an event you won’t want to miss. Wakanda is a growing African nation ruled by its leader – the Black Panther. In order to become this coveted position, one must prove his worth by winning an annual tournament. After witnessing the murder of his father, T’Challa trains to become the next Black Panther. But with the emergence of a mysterious police force with a shocking leader, will the danger in Wakanda prove to be too much for T’Challa? Or will he be able to save his nation and prove he is truly the King of Wakanda, and the Black Panther.

SYNOPSIS:

It starts with a meteor crashing down into an empty place in the night. In the background we can see two identical huge statues of Panthers.

T’Chaka talks to T’Challa about the Black Panther and the privileges that come with it including a special herb. He explains how the herb gives him the power to defend Wakanda and that he (T’Challa) will be able to experience it when he is ready and worthy of becoming the Black Panther.

We also see Hunter, who is T’Challa’s adopted brother. T’Chaka explains how although N’Yami and Ramonda have both died (Ramonda disappeared) they always have each other. Hunter complains about how it is unfair that T’Challa is next to be the Black Panther when he has been here longer and is older and ready. T’Chaka explains that it’s because of bloodlines.

A helicopter is heard from a distance and is seen landing by the Panther Idols. T’Chaka approaches the man who introduces himself as Ulysses Klaw. He explains that he and his group of mercenaries have been tracking the meteor, and it is rightfully his. However, T’Chaka explains that since it crashed on their land it is rightfully theirs. Klaw attacks him and they fight, with Klaw gaining the upper hand thanks to taking a piece of the vibranium and hitting T’Chaka with it. Citizens of Wakanda now gather to protect their king and hold Klaw back, however the mercenaries soon attack the Wakandans.

They make a particular man help them, who says his name is N’Jadaka (This parts a little easter egg for all the Black Panther fans), but his father steps in instead and is forced into beating up T’Chaka.

T’Challa sees a grey glove device by Klaw’s plane and goes and gets it and uses it on Klaw and his mercenaries (It’s his sound weapon). Klaw grabs it out of T’Challa’s hand and flees, with the vibranium. T’Challa goes to see that T’Chaka is dying. He breaks down and hugs him. T’Chaka tells him to prepare for the Black Panther responsibilities. As he is dying, he tells T’Challa that once he becomes the King of Wakanda, he can have what is in a treasure chest in his room. T’Challa continues crying, saying good-bye to his father forever.

Now T’Challa is hard at training and S’yan helps him. S’yan tells T’Challa that he will be the acting Black Panther until the new champion is crowned in the next tournament, which he is hoping T’Challa will participate in. He also informs him that if he does make it to the finals, he will have to challenge him to show he is worthy.

A now grown up T’Challa tells Syan he is “ready”. The Black Panther tournament is a huge festive, and, after defeating others, almost everyone in Wakanda surrounds the pit to see T’Challa, who is about to fight his uncle for the Black Panther crown. In a hard fought battle, T’Challa finally gains the upper hand and defeats Syan. Syan shows a sign of respect, and shakes his hand.

T’Challa goes home, being congratulated by everyone. He walks into his fathers’ old room, and simply says “We did it”. He then walks up to an old treasure chest that T’Chaka always told him he could have when he was the Black Panther. He opens it and sees the Black Panther costume. T’Challa grins.

T’Challa is now shown defeating various leaders of other Wakandan tribes.

He now looks up to see Bast, the Panther God, a large being who resembles a living Panther, declare him worthy among his people. He gives him a special herb that he claims will give him “extraordinary powers”.

On his walkabout right of passage, now as Black Panther, T’Challa meets Ororo Munroe. She is an apparent orphaned teen. The two have instant chemistry, and it is clear they both have affections for one another.

His first rule is to exile the Hatut Zeraze, a group of secret Wakandan Police who, at the orders of their mysterious leader, have been brutally and violently exiling criminals.

He is shown again walking throughout the land with Ororo, and tells her that he feels things are going good and that he may finally be able to restore peace in Wakanda for the first time since his father died. They lock lips. T’Challa leaves when a citizen tells him that several criminals have been found murdered.

He arrives to see that several citizens who were all criminals are dead. He suspects it’s the Hatut Zeraze and orders everyone in Wakanda to stay in their homes until further notice.

Later, someone tells Black Panther they know who the leader of the Hatut Zeraze is: Hunter, his adopted brother. This man is now assassinated as an arrow breaks through his back, killing him in the process. He falls into Black Panthers’ arms and he sees that from a tall tree a man has a bow and arrows in his hands, wearing a white costume.

A group of people in similar costumes attack Black Panther from behind and attempt to hold him back. Black Panther fends them off and is now confronted by their leader who was in the tree.

He tells him that no matter how hard he always tried, because of T’Challa, he’d always be “the other child”. Black Panther realizes it is Hunter. He tries to convince him it is silly to want to fight him over a childhood conflict, but Hunter tells him that he is avenging him mothers’ death, N’Yami. He blames it heavily on T’Challa for why she died (giving birth) and tells him he’ll serve the same fate as the woman he “murdered”. He attacks him, and the two have a classic battle in Wakanda. Eventually Black Panther defeats him in an emotional moment.

The next day, T’Challa stands before Hunter, about to decide his fate. He tells a kneeling Hunter that his betrayal of Wakanda was unjust, and, even though he is his brother, he deserves justice for his crimes. He tells Hunter that he must never return to Wakanda. He banishes him from Wakanda forever. Hunter breaks down and begs for mercy as he is taken away.

T’Challa meets again with Ororo, and tells him that they have to break their relationship up. He tells her that no matter how much he loves her, they can’t be together. He needs to avenge his fathers’ death, and she understands. He tells her that he will see her in the future once the “storm has been weathered”. (A reference to her becoming “Storm”, and it makes sense for the situation.)

The movie ends with a Wakandan showing T’Challa and S’yan a program on a TV that shows a huge press conference about to happen, saying “You’re gonna want to see this.”

The reporter says that there has been a breakthrough discovery and that vibranium has been discovered. She says that the man who found it has been able to make any shape he wishes purely from sound. It shows a well-dressed man enter to the podium. Ulysses Klaw walks out to dozens of reporters with waving hands, wanting to talk to him. Black Panther and S’Yan exchange glances. Black Panther says nothing except, “We found him.”

There it is! The start to my MCU. I suppose this could also be used as an origin story if he were placed in the current MCU. Anyways, i hope you enjoyed it, and no hate comments please!

Macke would be great as Black Panther, the rest of your cast is good too. I can't see Denzel as T'chaka I picture Delroy Lindo as T'chaka. The story sounds alright but I don't know much about Black Panther.

I don't see a thing to complain about. You did it just like hollywood people would do it. Big stars in minor roles and hot stars in major roles. very good.

@Lewis25 - Thanks man! I didn't notice it before but i think Lindo would be a great T'Chaka too!

@MaddMonkk - Thanks! Your comment means a lot since i read most of your fan fics!

@RunDTC - Thanks for the compliment, even if you don't like Saldana.

@Cataract - Thanks! I thought White Wolf made sense as a villain for an origin story! My next MCU should be up by next weekend at the latest. I didn't think of it before, but now that you mentioned it i might make a Nova fanfic, although probably not for my MCU because he wouldn't fit the tone that much, but it's definetly a great idea!

not a bad cast. one minoir detail that is often overlooked or miscontrued....Hunter, aka the White Wolf, former leader of the Hatut Zeraze, is actually a caucasian that T'Chaka rescued from a plane crash and adopted. Technically he is T'challa's older brother, but not able to assume the throne because of his heritage.

I don't want to see the Panther God.
The other choices are great.
Interesting story.
Great fan cast.

@HaroldofGalactus - I knew that Hunter was adopted, but couldn't find out if he was caucasian or African American - thanks for finding that out!

@Mrsuperheromoviefan - I was going to make the Panther God human for Hollywood reasons & to make the audience believe it more, but thought i'd stick to the comics with it.

Instead of it being passed down, the throne should go to the one who's worthy. Have like a tournament of the strongest men in Wakanda to fight for the title "Black Panther" everytime the current hero decides to retire or die. I like the whole white brother idea, too.
HaroldOfGalactus
HaroldOfGalactus - 12/11/2011, 1:55 AM
@dmm5 It is that way. The rulership of Wakanda can be challenged and won in physical combat, but only by one of noble blood born into one of the four tribes of Wakanda. they are (1) The Panther Cult, who worships Bast, the panther goddess. (2) The White Gorilla Cult, who worships Ghekre the Gorilla God. (3)The Lion Cult, who worships Sekhmet the Lion God. And (4)The Crocodile Cult, who worships Sobek the Crocodile God. Although Sobek seems to be a mostly forgotten deity, and the Crocodile Cult is very scarce and nearly extinct
