My MCU: The Punisher

My MCU: The Punisher

The last installment in my MCU before all the heroes join forces and team together! This is a fan cast and story outline for the Punisher!

This is my fan cast and story to the Punisher, the fourth member in the team of heroes in my MCU i've created. If you want, you could imagine it as an story and cast for Punisher being placed in the current MCU Marvel has, just change the heroes around.

Anyways, here's the fancast for the Punisher. I must note that there is not much characters from the Punisher comics introduced here, as a lot of the story if Punisher's journey to find the man who killed his family.

Karl Urban as Frank Castle aka The Punisher

I haven't checked out much Punisher fan casts, but from what i have i'm amazed i haven't seen this casting before. Urban is usually casts as Wolverine here, but i think he could bring the perfect amount of grittiness to the Punisher, and help make a successful Punisher movie!

Stephen Root as Linus Lieberman aka Microchip

Like i said i haven't checked out much Punisher fan casts, so i don't know if this is a fan favorite choice or not. But to me it should be because i think Root has the appearance of Microchip and is a pretty good actor too.

Alan Tudyk as Detective Martin Soap

I know most people will probably say this choice sucks based on Transformers 3, but i'm not planning on changing it. I think it's a good choice and i'm going to stick to it.

Guy Pearce as the Taskmaster

Pearce is an amazing actor, but can also do action films, and i just imagine he'd be a good Taskmaster, who i don't really have as the comedic type of character (like he is in the comics). Plus i wanted to stay away from the typical choice of Jason Statham.

James Gandolfini as Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin

I have Gandolfini returning as the Kingpin, who continues to play in the lives of the vigilantes/heroes.

CAMEOS:

Since some of the heroes have cameos, i thought i'd post who i cast for them for the people who haven't checked out the earlier parts of my MCU.

Anthony Mackie as T'Challa aka the Black Panther

Tom Hardy as Marc Spector aka Moon Knight

I know he's pretty much fan cast in at least one role of everyone here on CBM, but i had this choice before, and it's one of my favorites in my MCU, so im keeping it!

? as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil

Anyone who's been folliwing my fan casts should know by now that i haven't had much luck casting Daredevil. Both choices have been met with ok reviews, but i'm gonna wait until the next installment to reveal my new choice for Daredevil! (3rd times the charm!)

FINALLY....let's get to the story!

PREMISE:

The newest chapter in the MCU introduces Frank Castle (Karl Urban), an ex-FBI agent who awakes from a coma to realize he’s lost everything. Frank decides to become The Punisher, a vigilante who takes justice into his own hands. With the help of “Microchip” (Stephen Root), The Punisher wages his own war on crime, in an attempt to find the man responsible for his family’s murder and bring down the menacing mob boss – the Kingpin (James Gandolfini) once and for all!

STORY:

THE PUNISHER

Frank Castle’s family was murdered by a mysterious criminal. The murderer wears a hood and we can’t see his face. It is also assumed that Frank has been murdered by this man too, but we now see a different man in the hospital waiting room being told that he (Frank) is in a coma. They say that the likelihood of him coming out of it is unlikely, and due to the fact the rest of his family was killed, that may be a good thing as him surviving would put him through too much.

1 YEAR LATER

We see a news reporter saying that the “Castle Family Murder” investigation has been officially closed by detectives. They say that there is not enough evidence to find the man responsible. They also note how Former FBI Agent Frank Castle is still in a coma.

We now see Frank open his eyes for the first time since he was “murdered”. A big commotion ensues, and after a whole bunch of paperwork and hospital procedures, he is released with the man who was earlier told he probably wouldn’t make it.

“Always nice to see you, Linus” Frank says while the man, we know now as Linus, accompanies him to his car. He is amazed Castle remembers him, and is confused by his enthusiastic behaviour.

When Castle makes a remark about having dinner with his family, Linus is soon forced to remind him of what happened: his family is dead and they didn’t find the man responsible, and he’s been in a coma for a year. Castle soon becomes enraged, and remembers the events that occurred.

Castle, now by himself is contacted by a Detective who believes that Castle may have more information to present to the now closed case. He is taken to the Police Force, and they try hypnosis to recover the events through Castle’s brain. They ask him if they can see the man’s face, and we see the white skull mask the man wore under his cape and hood. Frank soon screams in agony and grief and is awoken by the hypnotist. He asks him if he saw who it was, but instead of the truth, Frank tells them that he can’t remember anything about who it was.

“Well, it was worth a try,” the detective says, who writes Frank his phone number on a piece of paper. It says “Soap” followed by his Phone number.

Frank informs the FBI that he is retiring, and soon isolates himself from the world, but starts training and weightlifting. He soon contacts Linus, asking him if he knows where he can get any weapons. Linus believes he intends to commit suicide and tells him he doesn’t know anything, but Castle soon tells him that it’s not for him, but it’s instead for “Vengeance”.

He confesses he remembers the man who killed his family and Linus believes he should’ve told the police. But he tells him to come by his place the next day, as he “might have something”.

Castle and Linus are shown in Linus’ house, where he shows him several pieces of armor and guns. Linus tells him that if asked, “he got none of it form him”. He also shows him a long sleeve sweater that covers up a kevlar vest. Castle grins when he sees the design that Linus brags he put on manually.

When asked what he plans to do, Castle responds that he was an FBI agent, and plans to do “Justice”. Linus asks him mockingly if he is going to be like “Moon Knight or Daredevil”, and, after explaining who they are, Castle expresses his belief that they’re “myths”.

We now see for the first time Castle in his Punisher get up, walking into an alley where a bunch of criminals are talking amongst themselves, before noticing Castle. They bring out their guns, but Castle, (hiding his) asks if he knows where “the Man who wears the skull is”. They say they don’t know what he’s talking about, and attempt to shoot Castle before they are quickly shot in cold blood by Castle, making his first kill as the Punisher.

He grabs their wallets etc. and goes back to Linus’ house wearing a dark trench coat. Upon entering, Linus is furious that he’d enter his house wearing those, but Castle soon goes to his weapons room and sets down all the belongings he took. Linus is confused, and soon gets mad at Castle, stressing that he thought he’d be going after the guy who killed his family. They soon start investigating the Committee, and Linus tells him of their rise in the criminal underworld while Castle was in his coma.

He says that nobody knows for sure who their mysterious leader is, but Castle intends to find out.

The news of Castle’s survival finally hits the media, and it is a favoured story by the news, and Kingpin soon becomes enraged. He tells a man resembling the Castle family murderer that he thought he took care of the job.

The man wearing the skull mask, who Kingpin calls the Taskmaster – is just as surprised as Kingpin. He says that there should have been no way he survived. A thug interrupts their conversation, saying that four of their men were found shot to death in an alley and that their belongings have been stolen.

Kingpin asks “You don’t think..” implying the possibility of it being Castle, but Taskmaster says that that’s silly, and that even if it is, he’ll take care of him.
Continuing his war on crime and manhunt for the Taskmaster (although he doesn’t know who it is), Castle infiltrates one of the Committee’s drug smuggling attempts, and tries to get answers from a dying criminal he has just shot. All he says is “…Task…master” before fading off.

The media soon grabs a hold of Castle’s war on crime, dubbing the mysterious vigilante who has been murdering criminals “The Punisher”. The public gets a mixed reaction about him, but most of the police officers are happy to have him around, although they probably won’t admit it.

Castle gets Linus to research the Taskmaster, and don’t get much results other than the fact that trusted businessman Wilson Fisk had hired a “personal assistant” for “business endeavors” who told the public was nicknamed “The Taskmaster”. Castle and Linus discuss this, and, although Linus thinks a trusted man like Fisk would never be associated with crime and violence, Castle sees it as the only option they have at possibly discovering who the Taskmaster is.

Castle enters Fisk’s huge headquarters. (Similar to the one he had on Spiderman; TAS in the 90’s). He manages to make it Fisk’s office without any trouble, but it turns out that was because Fisk had ordered it. As Fisk watches Castle walk towards his office door through video camera, he slowly clutches his hand on a gun underneath his desk.

Castle enters, and Fisk soon draws out his gun, and Castle, instinctively grabs one of his and takes off his trench coat, revealing his Punisher get up. Castle soon realizes that he is corrupt, and starts talking to Fisk. Fisk reveals he had hired a hit man to assassinate him because, as an FBI agent, he realized they had been cracking down on his thugs, and became paranoid it would lead to him.

Punisher cuts to the chase and asks for Taskmaster. He hears a voice behind him, and turns around to see The Taskmaster. He stares at his mask and remembers him murdering his family. He becomes enraged and charges at Taskmaster, both of them crashing through the window and landing on a helicopter pad. (Again, if you watched Spiderman TAS, you should know what I’m talking about).

Taskmaster holds his back, believing he broke it, but soon manages to get up. Castle disarms him, and soon slides his guns away too. He tells him that he’s “been waiting for this for a long time”.

He starts assaulting TM, but TM eventually starts to get the upper hand. They have a classic battle and are soon forced to the edge. Punisher is going to push him off the edge, when Kingpin’s plane starts takeoff, and comes to where the two costumed men are. Fisk throws out a rope, and Taskmaster punches a distracted Castle and grabs onto the rope, and into the plane. Castle chases him to the middle of the pad, but TM is already inside by now.

Castle falls onto his knees, and is soon surrounded by a group of thugs surrounding him, all pointing guns at him. They tell him that “it’s” over, and that it’s “bosses orders”. Castle soon bows his head down, but soon uses the element of surprise, and elbows a thug in the face, and punches another and runs to the edge of the pad, guns firing at him and jumps off, making a last attempt for survival. (he obviously thinks there’s a better chance for survival this way, or maybe he wants to see his family again, it’s more the reader’s point of view) He begins free falling until he lands on something that stops his fall, and probably saves his life. He stands upon it, and we see it is the Mooncopter!

A door opens, and he goes inside it, and sees Moon Knight, Daredevil and Black Panther inside it. Castle expresses his belief that they were myths, but tells them the jist of what had happened.

Daredevil recognizes him from as the vigilante from the news and asks him if he’d like to join a group of fellow Warriors with the same goal, (To bring down the Committee), and Punisher responds that he’ll join.

THE END

Why don't you just tie this into the MCU? It'd be better that way in my opinion.

@AutobotCommander84 - It is tied into my Mcu. But if you mean the one Marvel actually has right now, i guess it could work like that too!

I agree with AutobotCommander84, definitely tie this into the current Marvel Cinematic Universe. Great cast, by the way. Urban seems capable as the Punisher, Root looks like Microchip, and Tudyk can be funny as Martin Soap.

My complaints:
- I think you should switch Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce around, because then they'd be perfect for their roles (Hardy's good for the fighting styles of Taskmaster, while Pearce is great with the drama of Moon Knight).
- Kingpin's a tough guy to cast, because there's not many 6'8" actors out there. And I've seen James Gandolfini appear as the character far too much, added to the fact that he's done mafia-type roles a tad too much.

Overall, it's a good cast. And I'm definitely stoked for Daredevil. Especially because I'd like to do one myself. But for now, check out my fancasts if you haven't already.

- Blade the Vampire Slayer
- Doctor Strange: Sorceror Supreme
- X-Men
- Gears of War

Oh, one more thing, are you gonna do an X-Men cast as well?

@ftoons - Thanks man i like him for the role too!

@wadepool - I thought it was a sweet poster too, thats why i picked it!

@RoadDogXXIV - I may just edit it to say that it's for my MCU, but would also be an origin story for the Punisher if he is put into the current MCU.
That being said, i appreciate your constructive criticism, but sorry, i don't plan on changing Hardy and Pearce. I see where you're coming from, but i think Hardy is a great actor (they both are) and i like them for the ones i chose.
You're absolutely right, Kingpin is probably one of the hardest characters to cast.
I did a DD one already, (actually 2 - one just a fan cast, and one in my MCU) but i'm deciding to change my actor for DD himself.
I really like your casts, especially Blade and Doctor Strange!
I was thinking about an X-Men cast, but i can't find ANYONE to cast as Wolverine. (I don't want to use the fan favourites, and it's tough to find short actors who can play the Wolverine type.)
Lastly, i do have an idea for a stand alone "Cyclops" origin story, but i don't have a cast yet, just a brief outline.
Anyways, thanks for your comments, much appreciated!

I like Urban as The Punisher but I think Gerard Butler or Holt McCallany would be better. The other castings are great.

Very nice!

Gandolfini would be OK but has pretty
well been done to death in fancasts.

Quite good and accurate casting.

@Superbatspiderman - Thanks for your compliments, i think those guys could make pretty good Punishers too!

@DDD - Thanks! I know he's been used a lot, but i think it's a good choice and there's not that much actors to choose from when casting Kingpin because of his size!
