Actor Laurence Fishburne walks to a vehicle in a parking lot used for cast and crew members of the new Superman movie "Man of Steel" at the corner of Wacker Drive and Van Buren Street during filming in Chicago. (Chris Sweda, Chicago Tribune/Sept. 7, 2011)
According to Crains, the inside of Willis Tower will serve as the Daily Planet (where Superman's alter ego, reporter Clark Kent, works) and the outside of the Chicago Board of Trade building will serve as the newspaper building's exterior.
As for the parking lot, the only thing visible early in the afternoon was a clothing rack with a "School Bus 1992" sign on it. A CBS Chicago cameraman, however, claimed he spotted "Man of Steel" actor Laurence Fishburne pulling into the lot.
Other than that -- and a green truck parked on South Wells Street with a "Serving the Smallville Community Since 1894" sign on it -- it was a mostly quiet shoot. - By Luis Gomez
That is your new Perry White! Clark Kent's boss is being played by Morpheus and if I remember correctly when that casting news came out the CBM community was about ninety-nine percent overjoyed with the news. Enjoy!
As for the update about the school bus with the 1992 sign, that could be from the school bus crash scene. Not sure why it would be in metropolis though. Who knows maybe their having a reunion scene in the movie.
Man Of Steel, starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Julia Ormond, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne with Christopher Meloni and Harry Lennix, the reboot is slated for theaters June 14th, 2013!
