RUMOR: The Ending of The Dark Knight Rises Will Be Completely Done with Visual Effects

London-based boom operator and sound recordist Frederick Z. Roche has tweeted a bit of info about the secretive ending.

Before you dismiss this comment just be aware that this is the same guy that posted that first rumor of a Bat-copter. He said they were making this new flying device, and that it was going to resemble the tumblers. Now, several months later we can see that he was spot on. So if this is true, how do you feel about an ending done completely with visual effects?

By the way if you happened to watch the bonus features of the Batman Begins DVD you would've have seen the VFX team creating full scenes with Batman with all CG. They used the samples as proof that they could recreate the realism that Nolan is known for. In the end Nolan was able to tell the difference and tried to avoid the technology if it wasn't necessary. So after all these years has the technology become so advance that he could do a major scene, the end, it all CG? Maybe.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

I don't think it's that out there, the ending "sequence" could mean anythings after all..something leading into the credits, the credit themselves..it needn't necessarily involve any of the characters.

He doesn't hate CGI, have you seen Inception??!
The entire fortess of the league of shadows was cgi on the exterior.
the scene with the helicopter getting caught on the wires in TDK.
He only uses it when necessary, or when the scene is too complicated to do with practical effects

Hmm...if it's an actual scene, then maybe it's of Batman's spirit coming out of him when Bane kills him. :P JK
I have no idea what it could be.

it's probably something stupid like a cgi recreation of gotham. that or batman will be a late addition to the avengers. that would be the greatest ending ever.

it could be cool to see this ending, but im hoping theyre talking about a spiderman type swing through the city ending, but with batman running off a cliff, glide a bit grapple up, ya know, stuff like that.

Rumor of a bat-copter is spot on? Huh? All I have seen so far are images of a crappy looking Batwing. Nothing has confirmed it is an actual copter yet...or has there been a confirmation it is a copter?

I'm excited. This could mean anything from Bane finally bulking out like Super Shredder to a scene with Superman to a scene from Mars. No one knows except for a very few. This could be what draws me the most into keeping my butt awake for a midnight showing.

I think the ending of Tim Burton's Batman was pretty legit. Hopefully it's something cool like that with an epic score playing.

Do the ending from The Dark Knight Returns where he fakes his death, and then shows up alive at the end in hiding planning his next move.
