Cillain Murphy Coy On The Dark Knight Rises

Cillain Murphy Coy On The Dark Knight Rises

Watch as the actor that played Scarecrow in the two previous Batman films responds to rumors that Dr. Crane is making an appearance in the next installment.

Cillian Murphy is a very talented actor, but he isn't a very good about keeping his involvement secretive. When asked multiple times, in multiple ways if he is in The Dark Knight Rises he doesn't respond with a simple no. He actually at no point ends the conversation with a simple denial. He tries to be sly, trying to deflect the battering of questions. You can see his genuine smile, with dimples diving deep into his cheeks as he tries to keep something interesting from escaping his lips.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

@Tea Duuude...I have no idea why I never thought of that! I've been thinking of doing a Hulk cast recently and having trouble finding a good pick for Banner. Thanks for the help. ;P

Anyways, I hope Murphy's in this. He was fun in both Begins and Dark Knight, and I REALLY hope that rumor of his being a judge is true.

I really liked this guy as Scarecrow. Didn't like how Nolan down graded him from super-villain to guy with mask selling drugs out of a white van, though.

when people aren't in it they just tell the truth and say they aren't in it. because they don't even know anything about the movie so they have nothing to hide. see aaron eckhart re. two-face and nolan re. the joker.

but when they are in it and can't say much-even if it's probably just a small role like in the beginning of the 2nd movie, they play the silence game like this.

@NOLANITE, There are plenty of films (Ex. Star Wars) with multiple characters sharing screen time. Quit riding Nolan's dick.

The inquisitor scene that he's supposedly in sounds awesome as described. They could make it really funny by having him use his scarecrow mask as a satirical prop while passing sentances down.

He has to be in it. Final installments in a franchise tend to end everyone's character arc, including Scarecrow.

@NeoBAggins: Nice avatar. Haven't seen that movie in awhile.

@Teabag: Yes, CM would make a great, if not slightly creepy, Banner. Good eye.

@Nolanite: I can see why AsgardianGangsta called you out on perhaps dick-riding Nolan. You may not realize it but saying "if there's one person that can handle having too many characters on screen it's Nolan", you're essentially making a big deal out of something that's been done by multiple directors prior to him so it's not that special. It takes talent to pull it off effectively, yes, but special? No.

Steven Soderberg (Ocean's 11), Quentin Tarantino (pretty much any movie he's made thus far), Guy Ritchie with Snatch and the like, Michael Bay (Armageddon, The Rock), Scorcese (who pretty much had one of the biggest casts of all time in the Godfather series), the list goes on, etc etc.

Now, as it so happens, I agree with you. I do think Nolan can pull off having multiple characters in his film mostly because he won't put someone in a movie one second longer than needed, even if they are a big name. That's the mistake that a lot of directors make. When they get big names in their movies they have a habit of keeping them in the movie longer than necessary or worse, letting them take over the movie when they aren't even the main character.

Also, I just had the biggest brain fart because Coppola did the Godfather series, not Scorcese.
