The British actor, who plays the leading man in Man of Steel, was filming in front of a giant green screen at the grain elevators by the Quay.

The scene involved Coast Guard Helicopters, according to those on the scene. Crew waved down the helicopter from the sky. When it landed, Cavill helped rush the people on board. In between takes, the actor kept his pecs in top form by doing pull-ups on set. - Vancouver Sun

OK, now I see why Armie Hammer wasn't cast. He's 6'5". He'd just tower over everyone. No amount of beard hair or glasses would hide the fact Superman was Clark Kent.

absolutely love these. And with the whole shoe wearing in one scene and none in the other they're probably just shooting him from the waste up so he doesn't have to be barefoot.

@ncreb he's probably just trying to wave down the helicopter. He wouldn't have a problem lifting all of those guys out of there but he'd have to stack them on top of one another or rely on them to hold the other up while carrying one person in each hand, like a chain of people. So he probably doesn't want to risk someone dropping the other. But idk

He most likely doesn't know he can fly yet. He's completely grounded and i bet he saves them from some kind of fire and it burns his clothing. He is most likely jumping back and forth. Then he probably Flies for a little and then crashes. That would be the scene that he is in the forest by a cabin holding clothing. He is clearly grounded for this portion of the film. And he is not barefoot but he is not wearing shoes either. He has on the foot sock similar to the ones Evans had on in Cap set pics.

P.S. Superman almost always is drawn with mild body hair and has grown a Beard on multiple occasions.
