Matthew Modine and JGL were filming scenes at Wall St. yesterday, which was transformed into the Gotham Stock Exchange. In the scene, a group of floor traders were seen exiting the the exchange with their hands high in the air. As they walked down the steps Bane's mercenaries raced down the steps in motorcycles, causing the crowd of traders to divide and dash for safety. According to reports Modine was not on the back of the motorcycles like some had thought, but was in fact shooting at the mercenaries with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Modine will be portraying a 'politician and a key villain' called Nixon in the upcoming conclusion to Christopher Nolan's superhero trilogy.
And it's possible that Modine's politician is involved some kind of sleaze. The choice of name, echoing so directly the Watergate disgrace of American president Richard Nixon, probably isn't a coincidence, either, though he was never linked to a sex scandal.
