Four Actors In The Running to Be Bruce Willis' Son in A Good Day To Die Hard Four Actors In The Running to Be Bruce Willis' Son in A Good Day To Die Hard

Deadline is reporting that Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, Hunger Games' Liam Hemsworth, James Badge, and D.J. Cotrona are up for the coveted role of John McClane Jr.

Nothing against the other contenders but Aaron Paul is a superb actor and the Die Hard franchise would be crazy to pass on him. He is a feisty little ball of energy. And has a smoldering intensity that rises to the surface like steam from a boiling pot. He recently won a well deserved Emmy for his portrayal of Jesse Pinkman in AMC's brilliant show, Breaking Bad.

He is an actor that plays much bigger then his small frame would have you believe, he spits out his dialogue with sheer venom when he needs to be tough and nasty. While he also has the ability to show a softer gentler side that is so astonishingly good it actually makes the viewer sympathetic to a criminal, methamphetamine cook.

In the young actor category, a role to die for is John McClane Jr, the son of Bruce Willis’ indestructible cop character in A Good Day To Die Hard, which John Moore will direct in Russia early next year for 20th Century Fox.

I’m told the studio, Moore and Willis are down to these four actors for the role: Hunger Games’ Liam Hemsworth; Emmy-winning Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul (scheduling on his series could pose a problem); The Pacific star James Badge Dale; and D.J. Cotrona, who was a regular in the series Detroit 1-8-7 and is currently shooting G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. The studio would not comment. - DEADLINE

I'll shoot someone if Hemsworth gets this. He's already in Expendables.
Aaron Paul would be good.

this would be cool if they could pull it off to keep the movie franchise going. Some pictures would have been nice of each actor and maybe bruce, to see who would best fit.

Hope they get someone great as the main villain.
Someone in the level of Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons.
Gary Oldman would be awesome! His russian accent is great!:) if someone has heard him as Victor Reznov in COD: Black Ops.
Paul Bettany or Willem Dafoe would be badass villain too.

As I don't know these guys by name and face, it'd be nice to put their names under their pictures, unless I'm to assume pictures and names in the poll are in order, which I'm not going to do... so ... the guy with the shocked hairdo and the pedophile eyed mugshot is a definite no. The second pic (Hemsworth?) .. maybe.
Oh hell, I don't like any of em, so I'm not voting. Bring back his hot daughter from the last film and let her kick butt.

Anyone know if Mary Elizabeth Winstead is returning? If I'm not mistaken, she plays the older sister, so they're going to have to pick someone who can convincingly play her younger brother.

While I agree Aaron Paul is the better actor of the group, this is Die Hard.An action film.We don't really need dynamic actors.Just actors who are good, who can pull off the role and can do great action sequences.

I personally think Hemsworth fits the part. He's a little younger than the character, but he could probably pull it off. He's a big, athletic guy, so the action sequences shouldn't be any problems.

Hemsworth? We've seen his wife. That would be genetically impossible. My suspension of disbelief would shatter into a million pieces.

It should definitely be Aaron Paul, the dude is just awesome on Breaking Bad and he's easily my favorite character on the show, even more than Bryan Cranston's character Walter White.

I guess if they cast DJ Cotrona it'll solidify what we all must have been thinking... he was banging the maid in Die Hard 1 while Holly was out being career woman.
