Frank Miller Bashes Occupy Wall Street

Frank Miller who is a wonderful comic book artist, writer, and not so good film director. He wrote a harsh letter on his blog addressing the Occupy Wall Street Protesters.

Earlier this week Frank Miller was asked how Batman would respond to the protests on Wall Street, and he said, "Batman would respect the first amendment." But Frank didn't want to just share the opinions of a fictional character. He wanted to chime in with his own opinions. He wrote a scathing letter about the protesters.

Everybody’s been too damn polite about this nonsense:

The “Occupy” movement, whether displaying itself on Wall Street or in the streets of Oakland (which has, with unspeakable cowardice, embraced it) is anything but an exercise of our blessed First Amendment. “Occupy” is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do nothing but harm America.

“Occupy” is nothing short of a clumsy, poorly-expressed attempt at anarchy, to the extent that the “movement” – HAH! Some “movement”, except if the word “bowel” is attached - is anything more than an ugly fashion statement by a bunch of iPhone, iPad wielding spoiled brats who should stop getting in the way of working people and find jobs for themselves.

This is no popular uprising. This is garbage. And goodness knows they’re spewing their garbage – both politically and physically – every which way they can find.

Wake up, pond scum. America is at war against a ruthless enemy.

Maybe, between bouts of self-pity and all the other tasty tidbits of narcissism you’ve been served up in your sheltered, comfy little worlds, you’ve heard terms like al-Qaeda and Islamicism.

And this enemy of mine — not of yours, apparently - must be getting a dark chuckle, if not an outright horselaugh - out of your vain, childish, self-destructive spectacle.

In the name of decency, go home to your parents, you losers. Go back to your mommas’ basements and play with your Lords Of Warcraft.

Or better yet, enlist for the real thing. Maybe our military could whip some of you into shape.

They might not let you babies keep your iPhones, though. Try to soldier on.

Frank seems to be hinting that the boogeyman enemies from the middle east are laughing at the United States for protesting against the largest wealth divide that the country has ever had.

He also seems to be under the impression that many of the protesters are living in their parent's basement and playing World of Warcraft instead of finding jobs. Frank may not be aware of the fact that real unemployment in America is now above 16.5%. I'm sure Frank would change his tune if he makes a few more stinkers like The Spirit and his new Holy Terror comic book which feels more like war propaganda.

FYI, half of the protesters are also middle-aged and older people. Don't turn this to some douchebag-hipster nonsense.

Frank, you suck.

Occupy protesters are out there protesting the disgusting fact that the only thing that moves our politicians into action is money, and I have to read about how they are nothing but bums and losers? People who degrade the Occupy movement are some of the most uninformed people in our country, unless they get their news from Rush, Beck or FOX. Yeah defend the fact that your politicians don't do a lick of work unless they get big donations from corporate interests. Then they do the bidding of their donors. Money runs our country and if you don't have it then you don't have a voice. Occupy is speaking for you.

The Tea Party protests are all against the bail outs for big companies just like Occupy and they are for more jobs here in the US too. Yet all these people supporting Occupy bash the Tea Party.

Granted he sounds like a giant penis, he's right for the most part. He didn't need to be so harsh on the subject. If I make a high pay, pff, I ain't sharing it. I worked by butt off through college to get it. If other people want it then they can do the same.

MikeNitro73@ Uninformed? I walked through some Occupy booths setup at a local park last week and someone asked if I had questions and I said, yes...what is your plan and solution to make things better. They replied that they were protesting. I said, yes...but what is your plan? What are you going to do to replace or improve the status quo? The 7 or 8 people gathered around had no clue. Talk about uninformed. I agree with many of their complaints, but protesting does nothing if you don/t have solutions. Let's ask our members from the other side of the pond what the attempt at distributing the wealth in England did in the 1970's. They are still reeling from the repercussions.

At Ranger1 You talked too one person and expect to find a solution to our problems? Dude THE WHOLE PROTEST is the solution! The Tea Party did the same thing, and look...they have a solid political organization. This movement IS one voice, regardless of what any individual member can do.

I've often enjoyed Mr. Miller's artistic endeavors, and now I applaud him for having the guts to say what others in his realm of influence haven't the balls to say because they value their station in life above all else. Including the truth.
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 11/13/2011, 11:41 AM
Mike@ That was one example. I have actually talked to dozens of protesters, one being the local major city spokesperson for the movement and he still can't tell me what they want to do to solve things. You can complain and bring awareness all you want, but that doesn't solve anything. The movement wants to get rid of the Federal Reserve, but they can't offer a working solution to replace the Federal Reserve. The only action and workable solution that makes any sense that they have is to put your money in credit unions and local banks as opposed to major corporate banks. Considering a lot of local banks end up selling out the the large corporate banks, that is a guaranteed solution.

As i said. England tried to even out the wide gap in wealth distribution in the 70's. It doesn't work as well as some want people to think. Yes, there are corrupt corporations, but why should people like the Bill Gates and Steve Jobs(when he was alive) be held back from being successful just because others don't have their insight, drive and passion to be successful? I don't think successful people should be penalized just because others weren't as innovative as they were.

@ckal

BOOM! You're right on the money with that one. Everyone who I talk to who says they can't find a job are: A) Too lazy to go search for one, or B) Too lazy to excel in college. If you want the big money then you have to get off you butt and earn it. Protesting doesn't help much.

Frank is right. OWS is nothing but a horde of spoiled crybabies accusing the rich, the banks, and Wall Street for their failures as human beings. People blaming others for picking the wrong college major and demanding they shouldn't have to pay their debts. Instead of working a second job like the rest of us, these bums sit in Parks, play bongos, and invoke class war on fellow Americans who worked their way thier way to wealth. These same protestors have said NOTHING about Obama killing an oil pipeline that would create 20,000 + high paying American jobs. They are all hypocrites and can fk off.
Priest
Priest - 11/13/2011, 11:50 AM
I find it interesting that he is telling the OWS protesters to go join the military when he never served in the military himself.

I, on the other hand, served in the US Army and I completely support the OWS protests.

I do have a job and I am not a kid, but you don't have to be an unemployed middle class college kid to realize that things in this country are [frick]ed up and that there is a big gap between the 1% and the 99%. People are angry and with good reason.

OWS is about that anger, about realizing that the American Dream is dead! Back in the day, a middle class man could have a single regular full time job at some factory and be able to buy a house, a car, and support his family while his wife dedicated herself to being a mom and a housewife. Now, that's impossible to do unless you are really lucky or know the right people. Now, people like me, with college education, need to have at least 2 jobs (full time plus freelance in my case) to be able to make ends meets. I am not able to save money, I don't have health insurance, I am not able to afford a house. If I ever get married, my wife will have to work too if we want to have kids. And even then, having a kid would be risky as [frick] because of all the costs. Thinks suck, the banks and the big corporations got our politicians in their pockets. The rich 1% got the lowest taxes ever and the middle class is getting screwed. That bullshit about trickle down economics doesn't work! When big companies here get tax deductions, they don't use the extra money to hire more people, they use that money to pay big bonuses for their CEO and top officers and still move their factories to 3rd world countries where they can pay workers $1/hour and pollute as much as they want.

Frank Miller is a [frick]ing idiot and apparently he lives in a bubble. He will be entitled to give an opinion when he lives in the same [frick]ed up situation as most Americans!
