RUMOR: Actor Bill Murray Shredded the Script of GHOSTBUSTERS 3

GHOSTBUSTERS 3

The almost always reliable National Enquirer is reporting that Bill Murray who has script approval did not like the new version. The script has been written by the writing team that wrote Jack Black's Year One. All of the other main cast members have said that they are all for another Ghostbusters' sequel. Like always with any rumor take this with a grain of salt.

Murray, who’s got script approval, kept refusing to take producers’ phone calls after they’d send rewrites.

Then, after they sent him the latest reworked screenplay weeks ago, Murray fired back his shocking answer – nailing the coffin shut forever – by sending Dan and Harold a box containing the new script SHREDDED into confetti, along with this nasty note: “No one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts!”

Insiders say furious Dan and Harold vow that Bill’s off their “who ya gonna call” list forever – and they’ll make the movie WITHOUT him!

I'd pay to see those gals chase...anything.

In any case, just reboot the damn thing. Might as well at this point.

Might as well have. Probably the best thing Murray could do for the movie.

God! The Ghostbusters would never be the same without him! The only thing I want to watch before I die is Ghostbusters 3 The Avengers.

Can't they just can it? It wouldn't be the same without Bill Murray and as he doesn't approve of any script draft, Sony might as well pull the plug on it.

They would be idiots to make this movie without him. I'm with Bill on this. Give it up.

Um... I just don't think Bill Murray is that much of a jerk. Believe this is a lie, I do.

It won't happen without Bill.
Plus nobody would want to see it without him.

Plus after seeing Year One, I was VERY worried about the script.

It's not Ghostbusters without the original team...unless they make a whole new team with the originals as cameos.

I doubt the legitimacy of this on the idea that Bill would not subjugate his say in the movie. Sending back the script, shredded, with a rude note, would terminate any involvement he has. Ghostbusters is his baby.

One if its from national enquirer not hundred percent factual, two itll be dissapointing to me if murray's not in it, the second Gbustas didnt leave the best taste in my mouth but the first will always be classic. If they wanna make a third one so as to try to make up for there POS second,im for it,and tho it may suk murray is not in it,they could explain his charectors abcense, death, retired, ect. I say they do for it with or without murray if they can do it right.

I hate to say it, but Murray has become very selective about scripts (Zombieland) and very vocal about bad movies he's participated in (Garfield) and it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that he's turned down doing the sequel to Ghostbusters. If Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis are writing this, then they should consider bringing on a younger or fresher writing team.
