Bane's Voice Dramatically Improved for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Bane's Voice Dramatically Improved for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Collider is reporting that a source has contacted them with information that a new audio recording has been sent to the IMAX theaters that are screening the six minute prologue.

Just a couple a weeks ago Nolan told THR that he had no plans to rework the sound mix. Any chances to Bane's voice would be minimal, even though many fans such as myself has a very difficult time understanding whatever the hell Bane was saying. I mean Batman growling is tough enough, but to hear Tom Hardy's gentiled Darth Vader like voice is nearly impossible to decipher at times.

The source for Collider has good news, so don't fret. He says the quality of Bane's dialogue is clearer by as much as 40% to 50%. Which sounds like Nolan has made some major corrections. The source goes on to say, "because he’s no longer being overpowered by the background noise that drowned him out before.”

“A friend of mine who is an IMAX projectionist told me they received a new soundtrack for the Dark Knight Rises prologue. He said it’s now a combo soundtrack with Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, but the cool thing about this is that they’ve cleaned up the dialogue. They’ve gone in and lowered the background noise of the plane and other things, thus making Bane’s dialogue clearer and more understandable. He asked some people after they left the movie if they could understand Bane and they all said they had no issue understanding him, and were excited for the movie.” - Collider

Here is another chance to hear the original voice of Bane that has given people such a hard time. Are you glad that Bane's voice is being corrected?

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

Well, this is just for the prologue, not the whole film though. They still need to decide whether or not to change it in post.

It sounded fine, there was nothing wrong with it. And yet Sylvester Stallone releases movies year after year and not one complaint.

This news pleases me. It wasn't that the voice was too weird, it was that the mix had everything playing too loud. Good move.

This dude just said that they fixed the background noise and tuned up some dialogue parts.

Hes not saying that Nolan reworked the entire voice.
So Nolan is doing exactly what he said he was going to do
Which was make touch ups and not change the whole thing entirely.

I didn't need it to be altered dramatically, I actually had a harder time trying to under stand the Russian mobster in The Dark Knight...I still don't know what he says to the Joker whilst they converse at the foot of a burning pile of money...does he say "They won't work for free" or, "They wont work for a freak." The former makes more sense but I really can't tell.

CaptainJackSpareribs(lol), Why do people have to think Nolan is 'god' just for defending him and liking his movies. I happen to like all of his movies, non of them are my favourite all time but they are all very good and each offer something different to me. People, like myself, say shit like 'in Nolan I trust' simply because he has never let us down before and a man's track record should speak for itself....It's not who he is on the inside, it's what he does that defines him;)

I really like the voice even all the metallic sounds and everything. I think for sure when we see the whole film and know Banes back story it'll all make sense. One things for sure though it's definitely gonna be a different kind of performance for Hardy but im sure it'll be amazing, the part when he glares at Pavel when he says I told them nothing is probably a good indicator.

Come on RyGuy88, you know it works here, if you happen to like Nolan's movies you are automatically a worshiper at the altar of Nolan.

Anyway, I think the Chechen was saying the "freak" line instead of the "free" version.

As for this rumor, I hope it is true. The style of it sounds great, but yeah the background noise makes it a little difficult to understand.

His voice was perfect. Now it's going to be better than perfect. I don't even think there's a word in the dictionary for that...unless they make the name Christopher Nolan a word...yup that would pretty much be the definition of it. This movie's gonna [frick]ing RULE.

When I saw the trailer, I could understand Bane perfectly. When I went to see the 6-minute prologue I went in with a belief that there was no issue. But, I could only understand about 65-70% of what he said.

^Exactly, that was the only reason, because one of them was supposed to go back with the CIA and they had already called it in.

I saw the prologue, both with the new sound and before, and it was a drastic difference. Not only is Bane completely comprehensible, he sounds scary as f**k, and the entire scene benefits. The CIA guys lines are also a lot clearer, and the music is eery as shit! This movie shall be epic, and won't require subtitles. Best of both worlds!
