First Look at THE DARK KNIGHT RISES HotWheels' Toys

Hasbro has filed with the FCC three remote controlled vehicles inspired by Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie. The flying vehicle that has been called the new Batwing officially is being named, "The Bat."

Looks like we can no longer refer to the flying vehicle in The Dark Knight Rises as the Batwing. "The Bat" isn't entirely new, we've heard the name bandied about, but nothing permanent or official like Hasbro's filing with the FCC today.

According to HotWheels’ filing, these toys will be remote controlled vehicles with wheels (unfortunately, The Bat doesn’t fly). Also, all three appear to be quite small like other HotWheels toys…too bad, it would have been fun to drive a larger Tumbler around the office. - wirelessgoodness.com

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

Is this the first official confirmation that the aircraft is called "The Bat?" If so, I'd like to go back and find the first insider report that mentions it will be called that. Chances are that source is legit.

First off its Mattel that makes the Hot Wheels, not Hasbro. Mattel also has the aquired rights to the action figure line including the movie masters line. These photos are the designs for the 1:32 plastic childrens toys. I cannot reveal much as it would violate my contract with mattel, but much will be revealed next month at Toy Fair that does not interfer with spoilers for the movie.

Batwing implies there are actual wings, which this doesn't have. The Bat works perfectly fine, and more or less makes as much sense for a name as the Batpod.

"The Bat"? Really? Pretty lame name. They should have just kept the name "Batwing". This design obviously doesn't have wings, but still. Pretty silly.

Yeah who really gives a shit what's it's called. The important thing is The Dark Knight Rises is gonna slay all. Like Slayer at a hippy festival.
Since they stopped making the designs of the G I joe, not the orinal 12 " doll or whatever but the 3 and half inch action figures. Since they stopped making those it seems like toys are kind of lame. I buy my two year old son cars and balls and a mini skatboard and stuff but.. I saw a Elmo super hero DVD with Super Grover at wal-mart so will get him that.
