MAN OF STEEL Possibly Gets New Cast Member

A young actor, Robert Gerdisch, appears to have landed the role of Whitney Fordham in the new Superman reboot Man of Steel, from Zack Snyder.

Our friends over at Superman: Man of Steel (2013) have come across some information from Robert Gerdisch's IMDB page. The actor is listed as playing Whitney Fordham, and a photo of the actor posing with director, Zack Snyder. Just being listed on IMDB isn't enough, but the photo pretty much puts it to bed.

So who is Whitney Fordham? At first if you're a fan of Smallville you might think this could be Whitney, but that character's last name was Fordman. But, that doesn't mean it can't be the same character. Perhaps on IMDB that is a typo, or Zack Snyder wanted to change the last name to differentiate from the Smallville version of Whitney. That Whitney is the star athlete and a rival to Clark for Lana's affection. So, we could be looking at the thorn in Clark's side.

This shit is getting even funnier, now! 1/4 of it will take place on Krypton, another quarter in Smallville, the next will be creating conflict between Zod and finally end in a super slow-mo action sequence. Thanks for rebooting!

@Frogman- Yeah I too don't understand the comparison either but the kid they chose for Pete seems like all kinds of wrong- why make him ginger? Eh...but i'm not too obsessed with this matching the comics so him not being blonde is ok. I just want Supes to actually punch something this time

just to let it be known, I pretty much strongly dislike smallville after season 3, now, maybe hes not playing anyone from the smallville scenes, he could be a kid supes saves. I think you all are reading too much into it, plus when has Imdb really ever been real reliable?

I'm surprised they're bringing in a character from Smallville. I think that's kind of cool though.

I think it's obvious his last name "Fordham" is a mistake and it is supposed to be Fordman.

Sadly I don't think jimmy is going to be in the movie.unless its's a small cameo which would be a shame because jimmy deserves better

First, you're all idiots for smashing a movie that's over a year out. Second, both Pete Ross and Lana Lang have existed in the comics for quite some time. Third, that kid is not a "ginger" in that pic. His hair is brown. Fourth, Allison Mack was, is, and always will be hotter than Kristin Kreuk. Last but not least, the appearance of ANY character in ANY comic changes depending on what artist draws and/or colors them so shut up and just enjoy the fact that they even still want to make a Superman movie at all.

I can understand what they are doing by paying tribute to smallville since Snyder has praised it for keeping superman mythos in public eye 4 ten years. Even tho after season 4 i hated that show. This kid will prob just a douche who picks on young clark its a relatively small wink to the series Im fine with that
