"He looked me dead in the eyes and I thought, 'I’m never going to be able to survive the onslaught that is Christian Bale, or Batman.'"

This television interview for the past week has been getting quite a bit of press. Not for The Dark Knight Rises, but for Tom Hardy's reaction to an old clip of the actor that apparently was unflattering.

The clip is from 1998 and features a young Tom Hardy winning a modelling competition on "The Big Breakfast." For about a week the talk has been about Hardy's reaction. You can see that he becomes extremely difficult during the interview. He looks off in the distance, acting as though he is disinterested in whatever Jonathan has to say.

After several minutes, and several apologies, Hardy slowly comes out of his shell and shares a rather amusing story about meeting Christian Bale on the set of Christopher Nolan's last Batman film. Skip to the nine minute mark in the video to listen to just the part about Tom meeting Christian Bale.

***BONUS VIDEO***

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

Looking at the chat log, it looks like you were the one starting stuff.

If you can't take people's (overly strong) opinions then you aren't going to like much on this site.

@TheSpiderAssassin You don't have any "good reasons". You just posted a picture of Bane that no actor or human looks like.

from what I've gathered about Tom Hardy's Bane, the man seems like he'll rip your spine out through your face and frak you in the cornshoot with it in the middle of beating you at chess. and that's all I really want.

I've known people on steroids, and to get the size purists want, you're asking a regular person to go to dangerous levels with that stuff. Tom's Bane is easily enough to break his foot off in most people's butts, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, you know the man is dangerous.

@CaptainProg

he barely look like Cap in The Avengers. the costume in Cap solo movie is way better then the Avengers costume.

@TheSpiderAssassin You don't seem to mind Spider-man's non Spider-man suit, Naked non-Lizard looking Lizard or non Grey Aunt May. So it seems you're a bullshitter who's just hating.

I know a lot of people think Caps suit is on some candy-ass power ranger shit, but they kept the suit closer to the comics than I would have imagined. It's not the greatsest but I like it minus the downy helmet.

Spider Assassin has a point though I mean, I still dont like the suit of Spiderman but anybody can tell that it is spiderman. Cap may look like a power ranger but you can still recognize him as cap. But Bane...just no. He doesnt have the look at all and I doubt he will even have the venom which he is famous for.

Thats the guy who will break Batman's back? Yeah what a joke. Also Bane was mexican.....Idk how Nolan got the joker, scarecrow, and two face right but not this guy.

thank god we're not getting a pumped up steroid freak speaking a mexican accent

I dont know why people are surprised, nolan universe has always been more real and whereas he isnt as big as I would hoped there was always gonna be a trade off between acting skills and size and in this case acting skills won
