Grant Gustin Talks Time-Travel On THE FLASH; Is a Flashpoint Storyline In The Works?

"We are diving deep into the time-travel element and it is going to be wild," said Barry Allen actor Grant Gustin on the battle between Flash and Reverse-Flash. "I think it would be fun if [time-travel] totally changed the show for season two."

We learned previously that The CW's Flash superhero drama would explore the concept of time-travel in episode 15 and now the show's star, Grant Gustin has shared some details with THR.  "We are diving deep into the time-travel element and it is going to be wild," teased Gustin.  He adds that he hopes time-travel  will be a component of the show for many seasons to come.  "I think it would be fun if [time-travel] totally changed the show for season two."

Could a Flashpoint-style, elseworlds season 2 be in store for The CW's Flash?  DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer has already introduced a number of his comic book creations and concepts on both of The CW's superhero drams; however,  the whimsical storyline of Flashpoint-1 lends itself better to The Flash than Arrow.  In fact, Gustin has been hinting at Flashpoint since the pilot episode first aired.  .  "We're going to slowly find out more about Harrison Wells and what the hell is going on there", said Gustin back in August.  He continued, "What the coolest thing about that moment, to me, is they're setting up the fact that the Flashpoint story line [from the comics] could potentially happen — that Speed Force could be an aspect and time travel is potentially a part of the show."

-1 Flashpoint is a 2011 DC Comics miniseries created by Geoff Johns which chronicles the radical changes to the DC universe after The Flash travels back in time to stop the Reverse-Flash from killing his mother.  In doing so, Barry Allen never gains the powers of the Speed Force and never becomes The Flash, creating drastic changes across the DC proper.  WB released an animated adaptation of Flashpoint in 2013 titled Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.

Way, way, way too early for Flashpoint.

Plus I have a bad feeling about a Flashpoint season mainly because it may not have Thomas Wayne Batman but Oliver's father will be the Arrow likely.

A flashpoint universe where: Oliver shot himself instead of his father(father is now arrow). Atom is the main hero of the universe. Citizen cold. Firestorm doesn't exist. I can see it all, except how they'd do the Atlantian/Amazon war, but they could figure it out

I love the fact that they are not holding back. If it makes sense for where the story is going, the producers of the show are not afraid to make the leap, I love it

Time Travel and Flashpoint ... Flashpoint won't be happening anytime soon...unless they want to completely change Arrow as well to fit the world...which wouldn't make sense if you didn't watch both shows.
On top of that...and I have said this before (after the Pilot leaked)....the fact that the Flash IS there when his mother is murdered....AND that she is still killed....suggests Flashpoint has theoretically already occurred....he didn't stop Eobard(*cough* Wells *cough*) he saved himself...I guess you could claim he failed to save his mother...but based on the comics he was only their on two occasions (when his mother was killed), the first he saved her, and the second he stopped himself from saving her because of the effects it caused.

I think we'll see Arrow have his trademark beard in Flashpoint. I think it's too early to blow that load as well. To correct the time stream shouldn't take an entire season.

They could do a Flashpoint style three/four episode arc where they bring back Olivers Dad as the Hood (who never transitions to the "Arrow") with Moira becoming the Vertigo Countess after they lost Oliver and Thea on the ship. Slade and Boomerang are heroes working on ATOMS team. Tommy took up his father's mantle after Robert iced Malcom, Laurel was on the boat with Oliver so Sara became a druggie, Verdant is strip club, Atom is the biggest superhero. The Particle Accelerator still went off and was covered up So Barry figures Ronnie must have still become Firestorm. They find him and he flies off after he is attacked by Argus Operatives. Argus is controlling the World and has Decided to nuke both Starling City and Central city since they can't take down Wintergreen and his Partner Ivo's Super human army. Ray has enough tech to help Barry become Flash and Robert comes around after hearing about the heroics of Oliver.in the final fight when it seems like the mirakuru soldiers are winning, Ronnie comes back and turns the tide. Flash and RF fight, RF beats him and starts a monologue about how Barry caused all this. Robert comes up from behind. He kills He Helps Flash by Killing RF at the last minute as Atom and Wintergreen battle with the impending Argus nukes heading to the city. Robert gives him a letter to take to Oliver in an emotional scene And Barry takes off back to the past to fix everything.

This afftects both shows without really affecting Arrow's run by containing the alternate timeline on the Flash, while using Characters from Arrow who don't affect the seasons run. This can usher in a New suit for Oliver, the change in name to green arrow and such.

Flash has always been an A-lister. Superman and Batman are just on another level compared to every other comic book character. Their popularity goes beyond the entertainment world especially in Superman's case.

Jason Clarke is my guess. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in 2014 and Terminator: Genisys in 2015. Also, Jai Courtney is in Terminator with Clarke.

I'm glad they stopped with the Arrow references and whatnot lately. Keep the two shows separately. It was one of my many pet peeves of the first 7 or 8 episodes. Flash is an A+ superhero and he can stand on his own. Its cool to see everybody in Central City know of Flash's existence now and I like how he's already known as the Flash. The show keeps on improving.

I have said since day one that this is the perfect way to bridge the gap between the TV and movie universe, imagine getting Affleck or Cavill or, especially Ezra Miller to appear on the show, Barry rom the show crosses time to find himself in the movie verse or some shit?! DC won't have the balls to do something like this but its would be a perfect way to connect the two worlds, they would be doing something way different to marvel and it would explain the discrepancies between actors, characters etc
