An All Black Fan Cast of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

bigshow2312: This was my second choice, right behind Morgan Freeman… but I felt Clarke could play more a somber yet witty Gandalf, as opposed to Morgan, whom lately ((even though I love his work but these past few years... he’s gotten lazy!)), plays just any typical Morgan Freeman role.

bigshow2312: Actually Marlon Wayans was the initial choice but after watching ‘Be Kind Rewind’ & ‘The Italian Job’ a million times, we ((dmb1511, especially)) felt that Mos Def had a naive essence to see on screen, which matched what we saw of Elijah Wood.

bigshow2312: Really difficult choice to make, but as you can see, Kenan is no stranger to impersonations ((Saturday Night Live))… I mean, that’s what acting is basically… plus he’s comical, which would add a relief from a dramatic film.

bigshow2312: A minor character: yes. But Jennifer Hudson is an extrovert ((like Rosie: dancing around with others)) that we couldn’t leave her out of the article.

bigshow2312: He came into the game after watching ‘The Pride’, where he played the buffoon of the group… Actually, he’s like Kenan, he does impersonations and such but his jolly attitude towards life compelled me to cast him as Merry.

bigshow2312: I first thought that he shouldn’t be in the cast at all ((since he wasn’t going to be Frodo)), but it came to the scene where the Fellowship were in some sort of a murky Dwarf area ((last half of the movie))… There’s an unscathed corpse sitting on a well, and then we see Pippin, by mistake, knocking the corpse down the well… which alarmed the Orcs of the group. Anyway, I couldn’t help but imagine that character being played by Marlon Wayans, whom is well known for playing dim-like characters in movies... Plus, he’s no stranger to the use of camera tricks; made him look like a small person: ‘Little Man’.

bigshow2312: We needed an actor who was a pretty boy and looked like he could be a warrior in cloak. Corbin Bleu has come a long way since High School.

bigshow2312: Chiwetel is one of the misused black actors in Fan Fic… yes, he’s a great actor but he cant play every single black character ((alongside Idris Elba)) in this comic tier. From watching him in ‘Four Brothers’ & ‘Serenity’, we’ve envisioned him as the easily enticed spirit yet a character dealing with other multiple internal battles.

bigshow2312: A very brawn actress, that blew me away in her films ‘The Help’ and ‘Its Kind of a Funny Story’… I would consider her one the very few chameleon actresses in Hollywood. She has a voice that commands you to listen, parallel to the Galadriel character.

bigshow2312: The Saruman we’ve envisioned would be the ‘Lakeview Terrace’ & ‘The Jumper’ antagonist combined. Giving his opponents no mercy.
