The Invaders team first appeared in flashback stories set during World War II, and comprised existing characters from Timely Comics, the 1940s predecessor of Marvel. Originally, Captain America, his sidekick Bucky, the original android Human Torch, the Torch's sidekick Toro, and Namor the Sub-Mariner were together as heroes opposing the forces of Nazism. When these superheroes saved the life of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill from the Red Skull's henchman, Master Man, the thankful Churchill suggested that they should become a team, known as the Invaders.
Eventually they found themselves in England, where they met Lord James Montgomery Falsworth, the original Union Jack. He joined the team and provided them with a base of operations in England. Eventually Falsworth's children Brian (Union Jack) and Jacqueline (Spitfire) became members. The team later added Miss America and super-speedster the Whizzer, during a battle with the Super-Axis.

Namor is the hybrid king of Atlantis. Both hero and sometimes aggressor to the surface world, Namor is strongest when in water.
Burn Gorman as Union Jack
He became a member of the Invaders after the original Human Torch saved his daughter (Jacqueline Falsworth) from Baron Blood.
Kelly Reilly as Spitfire
Spitfire has the ability to run at superhuman speed. While running she leaves a trail of non-damaging fire behind her.
Anne Hathaway as Miss America
The first Miss America was active during World War II as a member of the All-Winners Squad, Liberty Legion and the Invaders.
Peter Krause as The Whizzer
After gaining super-speed powers, he decided to fight crime and eventually accepted the offer of Bucky to help rescue the other Invaders from the Red Skull.
ENEMIES
Mads Mikkelsen as The Red Skull
During WWII, he became Hitler's successor climbing the ranks and finally overthrowing him. Captain America is his greatest enemy.
Gerard Butler as Master Man
A physically frail Nazi sympathiser who agreed to participate in the Nazi version of the Super-Soldier Serum, he was endowed with physical abilities that exceeded those of Captain America.
