JoshW: As some of you may remember, I included a fair bit of info in my first Bioshock cast that explained everything you needed to know abut the world of Rapture! However, if you missed that the first time then just click HERE! As this is a slightly shorter cast than my last one, I’ve decided to include my reasons behind the choices I’ve made for those of you who might be interested while I’ve also slightly changed the way I display my pictures. I plan on completely changing the look of my casts and if you like, or dislike, this current format then please let me know!
After doing over 60 comic book casts, I feel like a change. That is why I plan on spending the next few weeks contributing more of these videogame casts (a full list of which you can see at the bottom of this article) as well as the first of a six part story for CBM that I’ve been planning and working on for a while now. Don’t worry though comic book fans, I still have plenty of ideas for new casts based around the world of Marvel and even a handful of DC ones! Anyway, enough about me...on with the cast!!! :)
THE PLOT
Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster somehow familiar, yet still quite different from anything ever seen has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city. It is a Big Sister, new denizens of Rapture who were once one of the forgotten little girls known as Little Sisters, known to inhabit the city's dank halls. No longer a pawn used to harvest ADAM, the dangerously powerful gene-altering lifeblood of Rapture, from the bodies of others and in turn run the risk of being harvested herself, the Big Sister is now the fastest and most powerful thing in Rapture.
You, on the other hand are the very first Big Daddy, in fact the prototype, that for some reason has reactivated. You are similar to the Big Daddies familiar from the original BioShock, but also very different in that you possess free will and no memory of the events of the past ten years. The question is, as you travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city beneath the waves, hunting for answers and the solution to your own survival, are you really the hunter, or the hunted?
THE CHARACTERS
Previously known as Johnny Topside, he was originally a member of a deep sea diving expedition that discovered the underwater city of Rapture. After being captured by Andrew Ryan's forces, it was decided that the divers couldn't be let go, lest they share the secret of Rapture with the surface world, and so the men were "volunteered" to become the Alpha Series, the prototypes of the Protectors who would eventually be called "Big Daddies".
Subject Delta was bonded to Eleanor Lamb, daughter of Sofia Lamb, who eventually laid a trap for Delta, catching him off-guard with a Hypnotize Big Daddy plasmid, and forcing him to shoot himself in the head so she could reclaim her daughter. However, he somehow survived the gunshot wound and mysteriously woke up ten years later, eight years after the events of BioShock. An "incentive" built into the early Big Daddies to make them want to protect their charges now threatens Delta's life: if he is separated from Eleanor for too long, he will slip into a coma.
Upon waking up in Lamb's Rapture, he sets off to reunite with Eleanor, both to preserve his own life and to save her from her mother.
In the game, Subject Delta’s face and voice is never actually revealed so I was pretty free to cast pretty much ANYONE in this role but I believe that Fox would be a great choice. He’s a great actor and could both pull off the flashback scenes featuring the human side of the character as well as the later, emotionally raw scenes with a “Johnny Topside” who is now barely human and is instead made up more of raw emotion than anything else.

When Rapture was created, he took the plunge to the bottom of the ocean with the sole purpose of making money. He was a key player in the development of the Vita Chamber and was a well known business man. Throughout the game, Sinclair helps Subject Delta by giving him objectives and telling him more about the current situation.
Just watch his fantastic performance in Public Enemies as J. Edgar Hoover and with a few minor changes, you have Sinclair! He’s a talented actor and I don’t think that he’d have any problem adapting to the big change that the character goes through nearer the end of the game.

Upon parting with her father Subject Delta after Sofia Lamb forced him to shoot himself in the head, she became a rebel of Rapture. Sofia, fearing that she would bring the city down, put her in a medically induced coma. Through her bond with Delta she was able to reawaken him and guide him to her. Delta is bonded to her in such a way that he will enter a coma upon being apart from her for too long.
A brilliant British actress, I think that she would be perfect for Eleanor as she not only looks perfect for the role but is a fantastic young actress who has really started to come into the big time with roles in upcoming movies like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Little Sisters are young girls who have been genetically altered and mentally conditioned to reclaim ADAM from the dead around Rapture. They are almost always accompanied by a Big Daddy.
A brilliant young actress, I think that she’d be more than capable of handling what is a fairly minor but vitally important role. She looks the part of the Little Sister‘s and I‘ve seen her in enough to know she‘s a good enough actress to pull off playing a character like this.

Sofia Lamb was brought down to Rapture in 1950 by Andrew Ryan, who needed someone to calm the minds of the people still adjusting to living under the ocean. However, her influence began corrupting the minds of the citizens of Rapture and eventually an entire religion was set up honouring her as a Goddess.
10 years after she took Eleanor from Subject Delta and the fall of Rapture, it is revealed that Lamb spent the time rehabilitating the girl and turning her into "the People's Daughter". Throughout the game she remains in contact with Delta, often trying to spread her philosophy and beliefs to him.
It’s not hard to explain this one. Pick any of her previous, creepy roles and it’s not hard to imagine her giving a fantastic performance as the sinister Sofia Lamb! You also only have to look at some of her slightly more serious past roles to know she could avoid being too cheesy.

The Big Sisters are Little Sisters in a post-pubescent state that have become unstable. They wear a diving suit similar to a Big Daddy and are known for their plasmid powers and agility. Big Sisters wield a huge wrist-mounted needle which is primarily used for melee attacks and extracting ADAM. Ten years after the events of the first BioShock, the Big Sisters are in charge of maintaining ecological balance in Rapture.
During the game, you come across several Big Sisters and like their male counterparts they are never given names or voices. It’s for this reason that I would have them as a mixture of costume and CGI in a movie and don’t think it‘s necessary to choose anyone to play them.
Grace Holloway is a former jazz singer who was blacklisted by Andrew Ryan for criticizing him. Grace supported Lamb and Eleanor was put in her care when Lamb went to jail. Since she had always wanted children, this pleased her greatly. Unfortunately, Eleanor was soon kidnapped and turned into a Little Sister by Stanley Poole, who was working for Ryan. Grace was devastated and felt that she had failed Lamb. One day, she saw Eleanor walking with Subject Delta and tried to hold her hand. Delta responded by breaking her jaw, which led her to believe that Delta had kidnapped Eleanor.
It’s only a fairly small part but Nichols is a brilliant actress who would be really well suited to this role. She looks perfect for Holloway and would have no trouble playing both the sweet and sinister sides of the character.

He was hired by Andrew Ryan to spy on The Family, the group of religious zealots devoted to Sofia Lamb. When Lamb was taken away, Stanley was put in charge of Dionysus Park where we threw a lot of crazy parties. Eleanor Lamb threatened to tell Sofia about Stanley's exploits, and in response he dropped her outside of an orphanage where she became a Little Sister (later bonded with Subject Delta). Stanley became paranoid to prevent Lamb from finding him he caused a calamity by flooding the park.
I was unsure who to cast in this part and although Harner may not look exactly like Poole, his performance in Changeling was enough for me to prove that he’d do an amazing job with a creepy, psychotic character like this.

Dr. Simon Wales, (aka Father Wales) is a prominent character in BioShock 2, particularly in Siren Alley. A powerful lieutenant in service of Sofia Lamb, Wales altered Sofia's beliefs and spun them into a simple religion that the Splicers could comprehend, called The Rapture Family. Sofia uses this new belief as a means to recruit more people.
Sutherland is one of my favourite actors and it would be great to see him play a villainous role like this for a change. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a decent sized picture of the actor with a beard or the actual character but I think it’s easy enough to see that he definitely looks the part!

Gilbert Alexander was an important scientist in Rapture who worked on the Vita Chamber with Augustus Sinclair and created the bond between Little Sisters and Big Daddies. In Bioshock 2, he is both an antagonist and a helper. Before he was turned insane and heavily modified by ADAM due to an experiment he volunteered for, he created several audio logs assisting the listener asking the listener to kill him. During the game his split personality calls himself Alexander the Great and tries to repeatedly kill Subject Delta.
I loved his performance in the excellent Sherlock Holmes and although this would be a role where only his voice is needed apart from in the flashback scenes, I still think he’s perfect for what this part would require.
