JoshW: As with my cast based on the first game, this has been a difficult one to put together. As much as I would have loved to have filled this with all Italian actors, I quite honestly don’t know enough of them to do that and find it highly unlikely that would happen in a movie adaptation anyway! Instead, I have chosen actors who I think would make for a great cast and see no problem in them all using Italian accents as the voice artists in the games did.
Fans of the game may notice that I haven’t included every single minor character or assassination target but that is only down to the fact that having all of them would make this a 10 hour movie! Instead, I’ve included all of the main characters who play a vital role in the story along with all the information that you might need to know about them. I have no idea how they would ever manage to adapt this especially as the game takes place over 23 years so rather than cast older and younger versions of characters, I’ve done my best to go with those that in my opinion, fit them as a whole. As for my choices for the main characters from 2012, just head to the bottom of this article and check out my previous Assassin's Creed cast! Anyway, enjoy! :)
The Story
"I will seek vengeance upon those who have betrayed my family, and uncover a conspiracy bigger than I could have imagined. I am Ezio Auditore da Firenze. I am an Assassin."
The highly anticipated follow-up to Assassin's Creed features a new hero, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young Italian noble, and a new era, the Renaissance. Assassin's Creed II is an epic story of family, vengeance and conspiracy set in the pristine, yet brutal, backdrop of a Renaissance Italy. Ezio befriends Leonardo da Vinci, takes on Florence's most powerful families and ventures throughout the canals of Venice where he learns to become a master assassin.
The Cast
Nobleman of Florence, and the main protagonist of Assassin's Creed II. He and his family are betrayed by other noble families and Assassin's Creed II is Ezio's journey of vengeance for the attacks on his family, as well as to stop the sinister Templar plot to gain ultimate power.
Were you expecting an A-List star? Well, I actually think that Collins would be better suited to this role than any of them! In my opinion, he looks perfect for this part and his role in Supernatural has really shown what an amazing and diverse actor he is. He has the right build and voice for Ezio and I can easily imagine him doing a great job with a character like this.

The father of Ezio, he was a nobleman, working as a banker for the Medici, but was truly an Assassin. Raised and trained along with his brother Mario as an Assassin, and has been aware of the Templar Order for almost all of his life.
I’ve been fan of this guy since his brilliant performance in 24: Redemption and everything he’s been in since has impressed me! I could easily see him doing another great job playing this character.

A prominent Florentine banker and member of the Order of Assassins, she was aware of her husband's allegiances to the Assassins, but kept it a secret from her children up to his death, and upon her grieving silence did not mention it either.
A great actress who unfortunately hasn’t had enough great roles. However, her standout performance in The Wrestler makes me think that she would be really well suited to playing a character like this.

He is a witty, sharp and funny individual who likes to tease his little brother Ezio, but won't tolerate someone else harming him. He started his training as an Assassin with his father before Ezio, who is unaware of this.
Yet another TV actor (I know I include a lot of them in my casts but most of them are better than the overpaid stars in the movies!) who I think is a good fit for this part.

Spoiled by her father she is smart, kind but immature. Later, her uncle Mario puts her to work keeping a book of finances for his Villa; a task she finds positively scandalous, since it involves "work".
One of my favourite actresses, her recent appearance in Bones as a slightly odd and snooty cousin to the show’s main character instantly makes me think she’s be right for this role.

The older brother of Giovanni Auditore and the uncle of Ezio. He is an Assassin, but prefers combat and group manoeuvres over infiltration and stealth. He leads a sizable group of mercenaries to fight against the Templars. He is a valuable ally to Ezio and trains him to improve his fighting skills.
Gandolfini is an amazing and expressive actor who I would love to see play this character. He also happens to look perfect for the role.

The best friend of Ezio, his main role in the story is to decipher codex pages that are found throughout Italy, some of which turn out to be design sketches that he uses to make upgrades to Ezio’s Hidden Blade. He also invented the Flying Machine that Ezio uses in an assassination.
Although this might seem like an odd casting choice, this is a role that I think Levi would excel in. Chuck has given him the chance to show off a diverse range of acting qualities and I think he’d give a really unique and fun take on this character!

Rosa becomes attracted to Ezio after their initial meeting, although she did pickpocket him by pretending to bump into him, causing Ezio to call her a jerk. They later become lovers.
One of the better parts of X-Men 3, there is no doubt that Page is a good actress and I can easily see her fitting a role like this especially after seeing her in other movies like Juno.

Paola is the leader of the "Courtesans" (prostitutes) of which her brothel is situated in Florence. She agreed to assist Ezio in his quest for vengeance, teaching him how to survive in the city as an outlaw through pick pocketing and blending in crowds.
She’s not one of my favourite actresses but her past performances make me think that she is well suited to a role like this especially as she looks perfect for the part.

Borgia was the Grand Master of the Knights Templar during the Renaissance in Italy and was elected Pope from 1492 to 1503. His enemies called him "The Spaniard" (due to his Spanish origins) while his Templar followers called him "Maestro" ("Master" in Italian and Spanish). He is the main antagonist of Assassins Creed II.
A villain may seem like an odd role to put Coltrane in but he is definitely capable of giving some chilling and intense performances so I have absolutely no trouble picturing him doing this character justice and making him a real hateful bastard for Collins’ Ezio to go up against!

The Pazzi
Ezio’s father discovered that Rodrigo Borgia, the Grand Master of the Templar Order, ordered the Pazzi to overthrow the Medici by killing its head: Lorenzo de' Medici. (who was responsible for keeping the peace in Italy and stood in the way of the Templars gaining power) However, it was too late to stop them and Giovanni along with most of his sons were executed for treason, wiping out the rival family of the Pazzi from Florence. With Giovanni dead, there were no more obstacles in the way of the Pazzi, until Ezio decided to fulfil his vengeance against the ones responsible for his father's murder.
They weren’t exactly good but he definitely stood out as being one of the best parts of the Star Wars prequels in my eyes! His performances in those and the short lived TV series City of Vice prove to me that he’s the best choice for this role!
