The season premiere picks up where the finale left off. Lois (Erica Durance) finds Clark’s (Tom Welling) lifeless body and removes the blue kryptonite enabling him to heal himself. However, Lois sneaks away before Clark fully awakens in order to protect his secret. Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) is desperate to find Oliver (Justin Hartley), so she turns to an unlikely source for answers. Jonathan (Schneider) returns to the Kent Farm with a message for Clark, and Tess (Cassidy Freeman) awakens in a LuthorCorp lab. Kevin Fair directed the episode written by Don Whitehead & Holly Henderson.

And here is the most interesting one! Could the mysterious bald man also spotted in recent promos really be Lex Luthor? Is this Michael Rosenbaum or another actor portraying the character that we'll only catch a glimpse of as we did in the show's eighth season? Share your thoughts in the usual place!

The Season Premiere will air on Friday, September 24!

or some random bald guy who has nothing to do with Lex Luthor or it could be Darkseid in human form if Smallville is anything to go by

Erica is looking hot though

Even though smallville is corny as hell I still enjoy it, its way more watchable then have the garbage on television today, god I hate reality tv, canèt wait for this season, it will hold me over till the walking dead premiers.

Very doubtful its Rosenbaum. If he was returning they would have announced it to get ratings up.

Hes more than likely just a double they're using as a Lex clone. Whose face you conveniently never see.

Also very doubtful that its Darkseid in human form, he won't get introduced phsyically until atleast 1/2 way through the season.

Oh yeah p.s. Why has she got a bloody vest on? We had to put up with Welling topless with the S painted on his chest. How'd she get off so lightly?! :( haha

@superman17, yeah i thought the same thing when i saw the picture, but then again i don't know many bald people, so the little bump might be a common thing....
I hope they don't recast lex, would be a huge mistake.

yanky820 - 9/14/2010, 2:13 PM
I hope it's Rosenbaum but I really doubt it, unless they allowed him to wear a bald wig don't think he'll be showing back up in smallville again even for the final season ... but I do hope it is him though.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 9/14/2010, 2:18 PM
Unfortunately, I doubt it's Michael Rosenbaum. They would have made a big deal out of him returning and I'm sure we'd have seen about 10 promos with him in to boost ratings by now! Either way, I'd be ok with a double if it means the real deal eventually returns in the last episode!

HAWKS: Just took a look and cant see anything from you bud! It's [email protected]. Is that where you sent it?

Is it strange that I find this photo more than slightly erotic?

i've hated this show for many years now (after loving it) but i really hope they end it well.

it'll be like making amends with someone at their deathbed after not speaking to them for years.

HAWKS: Lol, I get it now - you had me a little puzzled for a second there! And that is not in the least bit strange...I find anything with Erica Durance in erotic! The thought of having her tied up and at my mercy really brings out the teabag in me though! ;D

Ryden - 9/14/2010, 2:59 PM
I think it's Lex, because Lex was the one who cut Clark down from the scarecrow with the S on it in the first/second episode....I think chances are we'll see the glimpses of a bald head throughout this season and end finally seeing Michael Rosenbaum for the finale.

Talontd - 9/14/2010, 3:08 PM
The bump on the back of his head is not in the right place.....NOT MICHAEL ROSENBAUM!

I sure as sh!t wish it was....but he said he never wants to shave his head again....damn shame...he gave us THE BEST LIVE-ACTION PORTRAYAL OF LEX LUTHER......EVER!

In the clip you see a bald guy walking towards Lois for about 2 seconds. It's not Rosenbbaum, at least I don't think it is...

I'm pretty sure that's a Lex clone, the writers had an interview a few weeks ago and they mentioned Lex-clones were a big part of the season. They say it was basically a backup plan for Lex in case he was seriously injured, which he was.

I'm guessing they know Rosenbaum will come back but only for an episode or two at the end so they will use the clones until he returns.

Watch it be a different actor and they just play it off by saying he got a little messed up during Lex's cloning process. One can only hope that it's Rosenbaum.

@Breasticles7,

'Persuasion' from last season was a very good episode. I also liked 'Wrath' from season 7, 'Bizarro', 'Injustice', 'Odyssey', and a few others.

Why would Lex not return to Smallville? :-(

Superman can't lose his arch nemesis. But I guess leaving him out gives the movies and other mythology a chance to break out and fit in, since
if he is not present during the last season, Lex could be "doing something else".
