Kevin Feige On Moon Knight, The Punisher, Iron Fist And More!

He also talks about Iron Man's new armor in The Avengers, confirms that The Invaders and Nick Fury will not be in Captain America's WWII scenes, and comments on Ant-Man, Black Panther, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and more. Oh, and we can expect to see a trailer for Cap as soon as the New Year...

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige took part in a live Q&A over at The Los Angeles Times: Hero Complex tonight, and what follows are the main points that were brought up in that conversation. All of them are pretty damned interesting, and there is plenty of updates on upcoming and existing movies, as well as a fair few confirmations/debunkings of recent rumours!

Iron Man will have a new set of armor in The Avengers:

"Joss would kill me if I gave anything away, but I will say that the evolution you saw his armor take in IM2 will continue in The Avengers."

Donald Blake (Thor's alter-ego in the comic books) will be mentioned in the upcoming movie:

"People looking for a reference to Don Blake in the Thor film will find one."

When will we see a trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger?

"Working on the Cap trailer now. You should be seeing one in the new year."

When asked about the chances of seeing The Invaders in Captain America, he confirmed that they wouldnt feature:

"While there's no Invaders, there's lots of Howling Commandos!"

Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury will also not appear in the WWII scenes of that movie.

"We're keeping Nick Fury as portrayed by the great Sam Jackson just in the modern era for now."

Marvel Studios have the rights to The Punisher regained and are currently figuring out what to do with the property.

"Punisher's back in house, and various plans are in the works."

Plans are still underway for an Iron Fist adaptation, with a script currently in development:

"A very talented writer is currently working on a draft."

The Iron Fist script is based, in part, on the Ed Brubaker/Matt Fraction series:

"The movie is definitely inspired by that great run."

When asking fans which female character they'd like to see in a movie, Ms. Marvel was a popular suggestion. Feige named one of his own favorites:

"I love Jessica Jones. Good choice!"

On the subject of Luke Cage, Feige was met with a several suggestions for Isaiah Mustafa:

"Love the old spice guy!"

Ant-Man is still in development with Edgar Wright attached to the screenplay:

"Edgar was here a few days ago. He's already working on the next draft."

Moon Knight is one character for which a potential adaptation has been discussed at length:

"Moonknight's a challenging, but extremely interesting character. We've been discussing various versions of it for years."

Black Panther is being worked on, but details are scarce.

"Things are in the works."

Awesome on the idea of Iron Man evolving armor...Maybe too early to have the current liquid armor he has now in the comics to be put on screen. Ms. Marvel should follow after a Captain Marvel movie. Iron Fist and Luke in Heroes for Hire first, then separate movies. Hopefully Wright makes the script feature Pym as the main Ant-man and not set in the 60's

Cool, I was there in the chat, but too bad he didnt answered any of my questions lol.
Still I hoping for some HULKBUSTER! :)

btw good to know that Fury is only on the modern era, and not on the WWII scenes on captain america

I don't know, sometimes I hardly believe Feige in rumors... :/

I mean, he said, 'Oh, there's a script', 'This will be done soon', 'This will be great' or somethings like that, but in fact there's none.

That's MO, but tell me if I'm wrong somehow.

A lot of really interesting info here. I think I'm most excited about the fact that we'll see a Captain America trailer in the New Year!!! And although he only drops fairly small hints about their other upcoming movies, it's good to know that work is still progressing on them.

I'm just pissed off that I forgot this live Q&A was happenning. There are so many thing I would have asked, with the chances of ever seeing Captain Britain (in a cameo or movie) being right at the top of the list. Dammit. :P

@Ibz...you could say Mark VI could be the Extremis armor, in design, but not ability. Hulk Buster would be AWESOME!!!! Based off the Iron Monger but stronger

Oh, and here are a few more things he said:

BLADE: "We're definitely open to it. Blade was a great franchise for us."

POWER PACK: "Maybe someday!"

BUCKY: "Bucky plays an important part in the film. Sebastian Stan's done a tremendous job playing him."

MARVEL SHORT FILMS: "The shorts rumor was just a rumor, but we do like the idea."

So, I'm guessing that means that Marvel Studios also hold the rights to Blade. I had no idea! Man, I wish someone had asked about Daredevil and the Fantastic Four!

The Punisher TV series.
Moon Knight TV series
Iron Fist TV series OR Film. I could see a film working better for this one than the other two.

I loved "The Immortal Iron Fist" graphic novel. :D amazing artwork.

Moon Knight would make for an excellent tv series, preferably not the WB though. Perhaps HBO or AMC or something. Movie may be cool, but since he is still relatively unknown to the general public, perhaps a much smaller scale movie without a super huge budget incase it tanks

"The Iron Fist script is based, in part, on the Brian Michael Bendis/Matt Fraction series"

This meant Ed Brubacker, right? Because he's the one I recall working with Fraction, not Bendis.

W/o a doubt we're getting Hulk Buster!

I'm extremely pleased with Moon Knight in the works.
Moon Knight needs a very gritty Crow type feel. Looks like the supernatural aspect of the MCU is coming together nicely. Dr. Strange and Moon Knight! FTW!

Wow. I posted a "heads up" to this in the News section early today, and I can't make the front page. But the review after the fact makes it, thanks to an editor.

Iron Man armor progression probably Aka a reference to Hulk Buster suit which would be epic, i assume Black Panther and Ms Marvel will probably be a cameo in Avengers then probably only Black Panther will get a movie along with Doctor Strange and Iron Fist will probably have a Luke Cage appearance... Moon Knight and Punisher movies would be cool but would probably make a better HBO or cable series hopefully Captain America trailer will probably be a Super bowl Ad but i hope it comes out sooner maybe with the Green Hornet...

I'm real glad that they are serious about getting an Iron Fist Movie of the ground but why are there no questions being asked about getting a Shang-Chi film? I mean he's the Freakin' Master of Kung Fu, how much more epic does that get for a Marvel Universe Martial Artist? If Iron Fist really is getting a film some time soon then Shang-Chi deserves one as well. I also he's finally get his animated debut soon, hopefully in either Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes or the upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man show since it's going to be a teamup every episode type of show.

If they do a Moon Knight movie, it'd better at least have a cameo of some sort from Jack Russell, the Werewolf By Night

You missed this exchange:

Q: After AVENGERS we know you're looking at IRON MAN 3, THE RUNAWAYS and possibly Edgar Wright's ANT-MAN. Anything else you care to share?

A:Those 4 films are gonna take up the next three years of my life! but don't worry, we're always working on more.

... suggesting that Runaways and Ant-Man are definitely in the immediate pipeline.

And JoshW? That Blade line wasn't an answer about doing more Blade, it was an answer about whether they'd do any R-rated films. Blade was his example of why they're open to it.

Daredevil. Punisher. Moon Knight. Iron Fist. Luke Cage. And maybe - just maybe - Dr. Strange.

Put them all together in a movie described as a superhero movie done Pulp Fiction style.

Call it Marvel Knights.

The characters with the most success can go on to star in their own movies. But for now, this satisfies while giving fans of certain characters a taste of what they want.

Moon Knight doesn't look like Batman
- He wears white/silver attire to say that he's not into stealth or incognito approach.
- He's a schizo.
- He's a grizzled street hero. There's not a sense that he's a high class, elite hero with toys.
- He's a Jew. I think there's always that religious undertone being his father is a rabbi. Even if he's a near atheist he was brought up as a devout, torah reading person.
- The egyptian mythology background.

@ joshw

cool find,mate.

i'm loving what marvel are currently doing all this shared universe stuff is what comic fans have wanted for years.

dc should try it,but come across that they are scared to try something new.

as for the punisher maybe do a crossover film universe with moon knight, power man & iron fist.

i want a nova film.

YES!!! glad to see the punisher is on the minds of hollywood again. They should get Thomas Jane to do it again. Make him an executive producer and it should be a great movie.
