TV Guide have revealed that the actor will play the DC comic book superhero in DVD movie Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, which is set to be released on June 7 from Warner Bros. Animation. They also report that Emerald Knights is a series of vignettes about the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic police force. Fillion plays Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern of Earth's space sector, who mentors Arisia, a new recruit played by Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss.

"I was always reading the comic books, I was always a spectator. Now I feel like I own a little piece of Green Lantern."

"He's a great guy, a gem, deserves all the success that he's getting, so it's neat to have a little piece and share it with someone you know."

The voice cast for Green Lantern: Emerald Knights also includes Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies), Kelly Hu (Hawaii Five-0, The Vampire Diaries), actor/spoken-word artist Henry Rollins and ex-wrestler "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

so warner doesn't think ryan reynolds is good enough to voice hal jordan.

they should of cut a deal where he plays him on the big screen as well as the animated features.

hold on this is twice this happen

when Thomas Jane had that fan image of him as Jonah Hex they never casted him as the character in the live action movie. but WB casted him to voice the Jonah Hex animated short.

when that Green Lantern fan trailer had Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan. WB did not even casted him for the lead instead now they want him to voice Hal Jordan.

so the rules at WB is that when you make any fan made trailer or pic of your favourite actor, and there is a big buzz on the net about it. instead of them hiring them to be in the live action they get them to do a animated movie instead LMAO.

Nathan Fillion is one of my favorite actors of all time. Not that he is Marlon Brando but he is so damn cool in everything he does! This is very cool! I cant wait to hear Abin Sur and Sinestro in the anthology that it will have. Nathan Fillion is stone, cold awesome!

The way it always should be. Nathan is Hal. Sign this guy to a contract so that anytime they need a voice for Hal, they call him up.

Well it's good to see that some sad acts who troll the GL pages are showing their true colours here - even when it doesn't have anything to do with the live action flick.

Looking forward to this one, I hope Roddy Piper is doing the Guy Gardner one. I am actually glad that Nate Got skipped for the role of GL I think he would be much better in a Marvel Movie, but if i where to have him play a Dc Charatcer I think he would make a great Hawkman in a JLA movie.
I think he would be best used in a Marvel made Xmen movie as Sinister

SWonder916
SWonder916 - 2/7/2011, 2:01 PM
Naahhhh..that fan trailer was pretty cool but Reynolds was the much better choice for the big screen.Established star, ladies love him, younger to fit the role better, brings the hint of comedy that Hal actually had and is also a good actor to boot(see Chaos Theory,Buried and even The Proposal(yea I know) if u doubt it).I see about a 65% happy and 35% so/so reaction so far for the flick but I think if the 2nd trailer looks closer to that "epic" feel that everyone seems to want to see(it's only a trailer) than everybody'll be sold
SWonder916
SWonder916 - 2/7/2011, 2:05 PM
And what's the deal with everybody and trailers anyway??Honestly when's the last time we've seen a trailer that truely blew our minds??I would've never known Inception was as good as it was just by judging the trailer, same for Dark Knight even..everybody should just see the films when they come out and I'm sure they'll be somewhere on here where everybody will be voicing their opinion
