Telltale Games has confirmed that they are developing a series of games based on The Walking Dead. However, besides indicating that it will be an episodic game, little is known about the adaptation.

Here is what comic book creator and writer Robert Kirkman had to say about the project:

"The game is at an early stage, and we're in the process of mapping this all out now. [It's] definitely within the comic book world, just like the novel series. It's definitely episodic."

Oh, and here's what he had to say about the upcoming second season of the hit AMC television adaptation:

"For the most part, it will be circling back around but, like the entirety of the first season, there will always be divergences from the comic story to keep people on their toes. Michonne, Tyrese, Hershel... whether or not we'll get to all of them in [season 2]is up in the air. I'm looking forward to most every comic book character making it into the show, but I'm excited to see who we actually do get to."

I kinda think it would be cool if the game were in black and white like the comic book.

@MovieTheaterLad, In fact mate you would be wrong, there was a series called "Dead Set" here in the UK couple years ago that followed housemates in the Big Brother house after a zombie apolcalyse 28 days later style!

Here is the trailer but they've disabled Embedding!

@Answer Thank you so [frick]ing much. Between this, The Misfits and Being Human, I'm starting to fall in love with British Television.

I'm kinda iffy on Telltale games being in charge of this project. Most of their stuff is humor-oriented.

I watched the trailer recently for their Jurassic Park game that's coming out in April, so I suppose I'll wait and see what that's like before I pass any sort of judgment.

In the perfect world, a Walking Dead video game adaptation would be a MMO...Come to think of it, I'd pay a monthly subscription fee for a Zombie Apocalypse-focused MMO.

it really all depends on the writing quality of the games story, so as long as Robert's involved im not worried. its the actual game type and gameplay thats gonna be hard to nail and get right. but all we can do is wait and see :)

I think this would be perfect if they used Charlie Adlard's artwork style for the animation. Maybe not black-and-white but more cell-shaded in the way XIII was.

The problem is, Telltale Games, Back To The Future the video game is horrible, at least the first episode released, I´ve played that and hated.
It will only attract me if its kind of open world!

btw, Michonne, Tyrese, Hershel are a must on season 2! specially Hershel, damn he would make a great character on the show.

Awesome find Josh!

I'm really wanting to see The Governor show up this season.

I thought season 1 was solid, sucked that AMC only ordered 6 episodes. I heard Season 2 is going to be 12 eps or more, hope that's true.

I mean, AMC would be daft not to order 12 or more. The show was one of the highest ranked shows on cable.

Even if the game sucks, I'll still probably buy it, just because it's Walking Dead.
