Britt Reid is the son of LA's most prominent and respected media magnate and perfectly happy to maintain a directionless existence on the party scene – until his father mysteriously dies, leaving Britt his vast media empire. Striking an unlikely friendship with one of his father's more industrious and inventive employees, Kato, they see their chance to do something meaningful for the first time in their lives: fight crime. But in order to do this, they decide to become criminals themselves – protecting the law by breaking it, Britt becomes the vigilante The Green Hornet as he and Kato hit the streets.

Using all his ingenuity and skill, Kato builds the ultimate in advanced retro weaponry, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car equal parts firepower and horsepower. Rolling in a mobile fortress on wheels and striking the bad guys with Kato's clever gadgets, The Green Hornet and Kato quickly start making a name for themselves, and with the help of Britt's new secretary, Lenore Case, they begin hunting down the man who controls LA's gritty underworld: Benjamin Chudnofsky. But Chudnofsky has plans of his own: to swat down The Green Hornet once and for all.

The Green Hornet is set to be released on 3-Disc Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray and DVD on May 3rd, 2011.

Definitely could have done a better job making interesting cover art. The worse your movie did in theaters the more it behooves you to get a good graphic designer.

It didn't do bad in theaters though... It made it's budget back.

saw it twice. enjoyed it both times. it's not the best CBM ever, but man, that doesn't mean it isn't great fun and highly entertaining popcorn fare. I'm sure the Blu Ray will look outstanding.

@marvel- Small profit is still profit. Home video, TV, and merchandise will make them plenty. Box office is always a very small margin of the money made for movies like these.

@Write- It would be impossible to be the best CBM ever anyway. Since it isn't a CBM.

ha, true. but since it's on this site, in that category by association?

but yep, what was GH, radio?..........yep checked online, radio first. that ya go Roscoe, it's an RM.

@Roscoe
yes it is a CBM.
although the comic in question was indeed based off of the radio serials and subsequent TV series. there is a comic named the Green Hornet which utilizes characters that were seen in the film. therefore it is safe to say that the film The Green Hornet is a CBM.

Worse and most stupidest Green Hornet adaptation EVER. If Bruce Lee was alive he'd probably beat up Seth Grogan and the CGI Kato. Now that would be worth paying to see rather than waste another cent on the stupid movie.

BTW, the movie flopped, made its budget back in worldwide box office but the budget was so huge that the profit margins were not worth the effort compared to their expected targets.

Budget = $120 million
Domestic = $97,035,000
Foreign = $126,328,571

Worldwide total = $223,363,571

Serves them right for turning the production into another stupid comedy! This movie made less money and profit than Daredevil, Ghost Rider and Batman & Robin. Scary thought is they'll force a sequel straight to home video with a quarter the previous budget and replacement b-list actors.
