On Possibly Changing His Unique Style For Superman:

You know, I think Superman...because Superman takes place in a more realistic world, I think it will be a slight departure for me just visually because I think you're going to go to a more real world. I've never made a movie that wasn't stylized. All the movies I've made have been stylized worlds. Who knows? I mean, we haven't started shooting it yet.

On The Current Pre-Production Status Of The Movie:

We are supposed to shoot at the end of Summer.

On Whether The Script Is Completed And Ready To Be Shot:

Oh yeah, all that's all sorted.

well obviously he has to drop his ultra stylised direction, but we can still expecting some of his direction to creep in.

His "ultra stylised direction" is actually what makes his movies so great for me.

I wouldn't mind a STYLIZED Superman movie - it will be an even more of an obvious departure from the former films. Make it too realistic and it may fail, keep some fantasy elements in there.

IF (and it's a really BIG if) there's an origin sequence on Krypton, that's probably where we'll see some of his stylized direction in. Maybe if there's any scenes or sequences shot at the Fortress of Solitude.

I want it stylized... maybe not as much as 300 the whole time, but a mix between that and Watchman would be awesome!!!

That's gotten me a bit worried, but then again, Sucker Punch never really looked like it had a story 2 begin with...

Hopefully Superman will be good, I have hope in SNolan!

StrangerX
StrangerX - 3/24/2011, 2:14 PM
If this is the case the villain will most likely be Metallo.

Man, talk about a match made in Hell. I've always loved Snyder's stylized approach and considered it the antithesis to Nolan's ultra-realistic style. How ironic that they would end up more or less working together on this film. And yes, even though Snyder is directing with Nolan taking more or less of a backseat driver kind of role, I can see where the broader picture will lead to and that is the one thing that makes it all okay to me. After all, how better to set up a Superman-Batman movie? Maybe there is more than one superhero in the Nolanverse after all?

Great...so he listened to the 'Donner-lovers' and wants to make this new film fu*king boring like the last one. His stylized world could have helped rejuvenate Superman in a fresh, new way.

@StrangerX- I would love for Metallo to be the villain. We can only hope.

And what the hell does Snyder mean Superman exists in a more 'real world' ? He exists in a world that is constantly invaded by alien gods- 'Darkseid', alien computers- 'Brainiac', parasitic super-power-suckers- 'Parasite' and a destructive monster that breaks the necks of deers- 'Doomsday' oh and let's not forget Titano- Gorilla that shoots kryptonite beams from his eyes and Toyman who creates armies of killer toys that rob banks.

Yeah, very real Snyder...psh. The only real world thing about Superman is his upbringing in Kansas and his real-world setting in Metropolis. Other than that, don't go TOO real-world with Superman, or it will= EPIC FAIL

Nooooo hope he dosent tone down the stylized action, that's the main reason I'm excited Zack is doin it.
And since when is Superman more realstic then 300 and Watchman?

This is great news. What was bothering me the most about this guy getting the job was his overkill use of slo-motion (which I might add had already been done to death in The Matrix) and stupid "painted-on" muscles. Now he's talking about dropping all that, I'm looking forward to the film a lot more. You're first good choice of the film Zack, well done.

I was hoping he'd do that though. Dawn of the Dead didn't really have that annoying style, and as TheQuestion mentioned, that's easily his best film. Man of Steel could be shaping up to be his second film that's pretty damn good.

@ LP4 - I'll have to respectfully disagree with you dude, barring Dawn of the Dead, I think all of Snyder's films are OVERrated. Just my opinion though :)
