X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.




X-Men: First Class is set to be released in the UK on June 1st and in the US on June 2nd.

Damn that was good. Im lovin every article coming out today except for Randy Savages death. But I heard that Xavier loses his hair trying to stop missles Magneto reflected back to the humans. At least that what some people at Comic Con told me.

I know this question has been asked, but I'm tired of trying to figure it out for myself... Is this movie starting a new continuity in the "X-Men" franchise... Either way, I'll go see this movie, I just want to know whether I should be p*ssed when I see how different it is, or if I should think what a great start it is....

Trudes, If you think this film is going to suck so much, why are you giving it a chance? Are you waiting to see some reviews first? Meaning that maybe you are acknowledging the fact that you don't know how good this movie will be?

Also, what happened to not liking this movie purely for the liberties taken with the source material? I thought you guys weren't really worried whether this movie was going to be good or not because of it....or maybe that was just the delusional twins Leee777 and Marvel72.

BatmanDTW, what do the faults of past X-men movies have to do with this movie? New Cast, New producers and most importantly, new director.

As for the 'random mutants' as long as they fit into the story I don't think that is going to be a problem at all. I'd rather a character that fits the story than warping the story to fit the character.

The final between prof x/magneto is really all about what shampoo to use, magneto(erik) picked the right shampoo, Prof x(Charles)lost his hairs ....

Trudy, I'm hoping for that too actually. It seems very likely that at least Cyclops and Jean will be introduced in the 2nd one to face off against Magneto's brotherhood (again). I don't know what they are going to do about Iceman and Angle though. Maybe time travel will be used for a nod to the comics as there are many possibilities with this franchise that could be very interesting.....Good to see you have one foot in the door now.

@ry honestly, it's just hard to have any faith in them after they screwed up twice. and not minor screw ups. big ones, man. i want it to be good, i just don't see it being very good. they're heading down the same path of just throwing in random mutants and not caring about the source material. changing costumes and looks is one thing. but they have multiple characters that shouldn't even be there. but like i said, i want it to be good, but i was mostly just saying something about what intruder said.

@intruder i see what you mean, man. i myself would like to see the real first class too. not that comic first class, but the original students. all the way. i want goofy looking hairless beast, snowy iceman, jean, cyclops, and angel. and no others until the next film. it's not THAT hard to do.

Well, hopefully this "piss and shit" is still better than Thor, that movie was fun to watch but so meaningless. I'm hoping there is going to be something here that is worth watching a second time, something that is more than just CGI effects.
