When it comes to the Transformers franchise, it seems the majority either love or hate them. Personally, I was never a fan of them as a kid (they were a little before my time I believe) but thoroughly enjoyable both of director Michael Bay's movies. While the acting or script may not always be the best, the man knows how to put together a fun, explosive and downright exciting movie. Anyway, here is his thank you to the fans of the franchise, posted on his site earlier today.

Thank You Note From Michael Bay
06/26/2011

I just want to take the opportunity to thank all the fans around the world for letting me have fun with the Transformers franchise. It has been a wonderful opportunity to have worked with about 4000 crew members around the world. These artists are some of the very best in the entire film business. I’m honored to have had you work along side me. We had an amazing time.

‘Dark of the Moon’ has some of the most technically challenging sequences ever shot. And shot in 3D. I must urge you to find the very best theatre and see this movie in that format. 3D was a forethought, not an afterthought in this movie. I’m glad Jim Cameron and Steven Spielberg really convinced me to shoot in this new technology. We used and invented many new techniques to make the 3D sharper, brighter and more color contrast. I think theatre owners heard their audience that they need to respect the specs of the projectors and not dim the bulbs to save money.

Many theaters are presenting it in the brand new 7.1 sound, which is awesome. This is the most complex, intricate sound track that me and my Academy Awarding winning sound team have done. They really out did themselves to make this a big picture experience. Hopefully you will have as much fun watching this movie as we all had making it.

Thanks,

Michael Bay

Starring Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Alan Tudyk, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey, and John Malkovich, Tranformers: Dark of the Moon is set to be released on July 1, later this year!

His movies may not be always up to scratch, but it is cool to see when a director is passionate for his work and fans who helped mold it, even if said director may be rather mediocre at times.

Yeah, I know you must've had the time of your life making Revenge. This one better be good, you bastard... I think it's going to be, though.

whether this movie is good or not, (most likely not) at least he makes movies fun to watch, I think he even would've done a better GL movie better, don't you think ?

I thank him for making great movies!!! The first one was perfect, the second one was great (the stupid comedy and the battle scene in the desert hurt the movie) and the third movie looks like its gonna be GREAT!!!

These trailers for Dark Of The Moon are beginning to make me think this could be a good film. There again, Bay may have yet again tricked me into thinking it'll be a good film.
Revenge of the Fallen was a downright terrible film, it was the only time I've ever fallen asleep in the cinema. This better be a good film.

You little bastard >_<........ Alright Bay you know what? I gave the first a pass, 2nd was a spit in the face, and the 3rd....consider it your last chance buddy. As a G1 TF fan, Ill be there to see it to pass final judgment on your success with the franchise. Not expecting much, but again one more chance to wow me.

@teabag yes I admit the old show had problems but I didn't want Bay to give us random unrecognizable robots taking a back seat to the humans. I mean the only ones that you can pick out are Optimus and Bumblebee if you weren't told who's who. Plus character details are completely ignored. Bay's Megatron is always second fiddle and apparently had a master (even though G1 told unicron to go F himself) starscream isnt a backstabber, and pretty much all other decepticons are props.

You're welcome, Mike. Cause even though people talk shit about Transformers2, including myself, the first Transformers would have been a low budget piece of shit with no sequels if you didn't take on the property. It would have never been done on this scale of production with another producer and director.

So, thank YOU.

The next Transformers movie better have Wheeljack as a scientist and include elements of the space bridge; cause if not, I will go after one of the writers who gave Devastators a set of balls.
