Another aircraft accident. The statistics that say Flying is safer are becoming more and more less convincing.

Are we sure that Superman can fly, I'm not seeing a whole lot of consistancy in air safety here...

I wonder if this 7-11 will blow up as well? 7-11's are becoming something like the Star Trek "red shirts" of the CBM world.

@EastcoastAvenger

Yeah, they built it just to blow up it. It's rigged with explosives as we speak. :D

hmm, why is it that after i saw the first pic of cavill in that scaly, bizarro like color costume, i'm no longer interested with this Man of Steel.

Hah ha! "Remember, statistically speaking, flying is still the safest way to travel."

@Nephillim it's possible. I always thought however Zod and them got there, that when they first arrived they shouldn't be able to use their abilities that well and be able to control them. Supes has had his whole life to do this. That's one thing I didn't like about Superman 2.

JDUKE25 - 8/22/2011, 7:22 PM
@Nephillim yeah, I think Superman early on should have the upper hand on them all physically, but seeing as how he's a general he'll be able to use his tactical abilities to try and defeat him and by the end of the movie they'll be able to use their powers better making it even harder for Superman making it an even better movie.

This is really cool. I love all the heavy military presence in this movie. I hope...and that is a BIG HOPE that this aircraft crashed and Supes tries to save it but fails to (for whatever reason) which could also play into the public's negative perception of him in this movie- remember everyone...in this Superman movie- the people of Metropolis FEAR Superman, it aint like the happy-go-lucky Donner films. This aircraft incident could just be another reason for them to hate Superman. Maybe also, Zod perhaps knocks it down thus everyone feels that Zod is acquainted with Supes so they naturally blame it on Superman as well.

I like the idea of Superman not necessarily being "beloved by all" in this film. It gives him more to PROVE and makes him seem a little less "perfect"

Kinda makes him more...MARVEL ;D

lol

JDUKE25 - 8/22/2011, 7:42 PM
@Nephillim exactly ;)

@LP4 yeah, I definitely don't want him to be loved by everyone. Realistically, if an alien from another planet revealed himself to the general public I doubt everyone would be accepting to that. I mean he's an ALIEN FROM ANOTHER PLANET!! lol

I can't wait to see these action sequences

@JDUKE- Yeah man, being a realistic film...it just makes more sense for people to fear him and perhaps even...possibly- HATE him. I'd love to see them go to the extent of Superman trying to save people and they spit at him or they get mad at him for touching them when he's attempting to save them.

Something along those lines would add more depth to the film.

thatcoldblackcloud - 8/22/2011, 8:10 PM
@LP4: so basically you want them to turn Superman into Spider- man? Are you sure you're a Superman fan? Because part of who Supes is, is being the hero everyone loves because he's an honest to god good guy.

Here you want him to be hated? Maybe you should switch your avatar to one of Peter Parker, neh?

It's a time warp pass. When the Plane rips in Superman returns, the pieces fall into Man of Steel.

@ThatCOLDblackCLOUD- Yes I'm a Superman-fan. I think everyone on this site knows that even. As for me wanting Superman to be hated for once, what's the big deal? Realistically as JDUKE put it- people SHOULD fear Superman, he's a [frick]ing alien.

Please don't come at me about fan this or fan that. I've been on this site for OVER A [frick]EN YEAR and I've posted nothing but Superman comments and articles and had only Superman-avatars. He's my favorite Superhero. Wanting him to be hated in the movie has nothing to do with Spider-Man and the fact he's hated in his world. It's only because I want a REALISTIC MOVIE PERSPECTIVE ON SUPERMAN. And REALISTICALLY he'd be feared and hated.
LP4
LP4 - 8/22/2011, 8:21 PM
Oh and furthermore @ThatCOLDblackCLOUD- Superman has always been the goodie/goodie hero that everyone can trust and believe in. But part of the approach for this film is to set it completely APART from everything before it. It's a re-imagining of Superman. Hence why they're going to make people fear him in this movie. If you want to cling to old stuff, cling to the donner crap.

And yeah, the comics i read most of are Superman. My knowledge on Superman is vast- Did you know he has an ability where he can see the spirit of someone dying, leave their body- hence WHY he values life so much? Did you know Superman knows Kryptonian martial arts? I know my Superman-shit. And what's so bad about taking the Spider-Man approach with Superman. They're using the same goddamn material for his suit as Spider-Man's. Plus the Spider-Man approach could really help to make this an actual REBOOT.

Damn even when i post nice comments people still wanna debate my fanhood on here. Everyone knows that I'm a huge Superman-fan. There is no mystery in that. Just as they all know JDUKE is a huge Superman-fan. I think we're the most obvious ones on this site.

duh.
