Over at the San Diego Reader, Jay Allen Sanford is running a feature called "Famous Movie Poster Rejects You've Never Seen", with comic book movies including Batman, Supergirl and Howard the Duck all featured. The photos come from a collection of original artwork and proof prints that Sanford archived for a client, and include rejected versions as well as works in progress. I only like the first batman one. That would have been a great poster instead of that emblem.

Loved the "Supergirl" posters. Helen Slater is pure eye candy.

The Batman posters on the other hand, seems kind of hideous now. :P

Destroyer14: the Supergirl flying effects were beautiful, and so was the Jerry Goldsmith score,
but that´s it.

The music was a beautiful companion piece for John William´s Superman. It even had the Superman musical theme appearing briefly in a scene (Superman´s poster in a wall).

A Supergirl movie would work if her character was first established in a Superman movie. Actually, the fourth Superman film that I wrote a plot for in my fictionalized franchise was pretty much a Supergirl movie because old Supes was dead for most of the film.
