Offering up our first official look at Christian Bale as Batman (wielding a very mysterious gadget) and the second image of Tom Hardy as the villainous Bane, check out the fully revealed Empire Magazine covers...
Every hero has a journey. Every journey has an end. Christopher Nolan returns to complete the epic Gotham trilogy that launched with Batman Begins and reached the stratosphere with the billion-dollar blockbuster The Dark Knight. Batman is now hunted by the law led by his friend Commisioner Gordon for taking the blame of Harvey Dent's murders and protecting his reputation. He must quickly deal with the arrival of new villain Bane who is bent on the destruction and chaos of Gotham City, face old wounds and get a handle on the enigmatic Selina Kyle before his city is lost for good.
Well, here he is. After the first official image of Tom Hardy as Bane was released a while back, we now have a second look (all those set photos don't count!) at The Dark Knight Rises' villain courtesy of Empire Online. The site have been unveiling the two magazine covers very slowly, although it appears that a few fans have found a way to cheat the system with the votes coming in by the hundreds every few minutes for the past couple of hours. Stay tuned and I'll keep updating both covers as the night goes on.
UPDATE: As you can see, Batman has now been fully revealed. I wonder what exactly that gadget is he's wielding?
