Every hero has a journey. Every journey has an end. Christopher Nolan returns to complete the epic Gotham trilogy that launched with Batman Begins and reached the stratosphere with the billion-dollar blockbuster The Dark Knight. Batman is now hunted by the law led by his friend Commisioner Gordon for taking the blame of Harvey Dent's murders and protecting his reputation. He must quickly deal with the arrival of new villain Bane who is bent on the destruction and chaos of Gotham City, face old wounds and get a handle on the enigmatic Selina Kyle before his city is lost for good.

Well, it was inevitable really. With many subscribers receiving their copy of Empire in the post today, fans have decided to take some scans of what The Dark Knight Rises goodies it contains. The following come via Facebook's Official 'The Dark Knight Rises' community, although I strongly recommend picking the issue up for yourselves in order to enjoy these fantastic new images in their full glory...not to mention the various interviews and details it's bound to contain.

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman

In the comics, Bane used several villains to weaken Batman, over the course of several issues.

In the movie, if the prologue is accurate, it seems Bane was already doing it in the second movie, "Dark Knight". Very clever indeed!

Batman is already tired and fed up to battle this goliath, oh, this is going to be dramatic!

Rosco71: A mess? in which way?

Act 1: Bad guy beats weakened hero.
Act 2: Bad guy gloats and do bad things while hero recovers.
Act 3: Hero gets inspiring montage and beats bad guy.

What´s so confusing about this? Ever seen a Rocky Balboa movie?

The real Bane wouldn't need to stand on the Tumbler to be seen...

And I hate how scrawny he looks in the last pic. Although, ignoring perception, the size looks closer :P haha

He'll be a great villain, just not Bane...
