Hey everyone Kinghulk back once again but for once with an editorial that doesn’t involve Thanos or infinity lol. I’m sure all of you have heard about Marvel now being able to use Spiderman in the MCU and I’m sure most of you are very happy and excited and some of you might be like me and have mixed feelings. Personally I’m happy that Spidey is back but at the same time I’m not happy that 1 Marvel has moved back their release dates for some phase 3 movies which now to me feels out of sync, 2 I don’t trust Sony and 3 I don’t want Spidey to steal Black Panthers thunder.

As I’m sure you all know Spidey was at the centre of Civil war in the comics caught between Tony and Steve and even revealed his identity to the world. The film however seemed to be going a slightly different direction with the source of conflict apparently being the US government wanting to control/monitor the heroes a role which was in some form filled by SHIELD prior to the winter soldier and until this week it seemed BP would be taking Spidey’s place caught between Tony and Steve. Now I was personally looking forward to the Russos take on civil war without Spidey and couldn’t wait to see Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, but what does Spidey’s Return for Black Panther mean?

Personally I don’t want Spidey to take Black Panthers place in the Civil war film I want to see BP in all his glory with both Tony and Steve wanting him on their side. Im sure some of you are asking what about Spidey, well I think I have found a role for him to have in the film which wouldn’t over shadow BP but would still have a big impact on the film. Does the Name Dorrek VIII mean anything to you?

For those of you that don’t know Dorrek VIII is the Skrull name of Teddy Altman better known as Hulkling. In the comics Teddy played a pivotal role in Captain America's plan for the final confrontation with Iron Man's forces by impersonating Yellowjacket. So what I’m suggesting is that Spidey take Hulklings place in Civil war being the guy on Tony’s side that turn on him in the finale revealing he had been helping Steve the whole time. It would be an interesting twist that could have a huge impact on the outcome of the story without Spidey taking BP’s place in the story.

They could introduce Spidey in a scene where Tony tries to convince him to join his side and Spidey tells him about how he admired Tony and Steve for what they did in the battle of New York (maybe uncle ben was there when it happened and was saved by cap, sadly it would mean he survived an alien invasion but got killed by a mugger). Later on in the film Tony could give Spidey a new suit (the iron spider suit) which could have been designed by him and Hank Pym (based on what we know about ant man it sounds like he doesn’t like heroes). Later on the final confrontation could happen similarly to how it did with both players making their final moves and spies on both sides begin revealed with perhaps Black widow being on Tony’s side being revealed as a spy which tony knew then Spidey steps forward to say “I’m sorry tony”.

We can then have Spidey briefly battle Iron man in the Iron Spider suit only the eventually be taken out of the fight by Tony due to him making the suit. Perhaps Tony takes control of the suit while peter is in side of it so BP can fight the controlled Spidey while Cap and tony have their epic final battle.

GliderMan- lol i guess that's good at least.

>Black Panther vs Spider-man
That's a selling point for me, I like it. Spider-man should have a really good introduction, though, post-credits scene cameo small role whatever but his INTRODUCTION has to be GOOD. It's a really big character and Marvel Studios sure thought about his introduction for years, so I'm confident it will in fact be a great introduction. I agree in that his role should not overshadow Black Panther tho, which is why I like the whole "sub-boss" battle between the two, while Tony and Steve are the final bosses.

PkBlitz- glad you like the idea, i can just picture some epic fight scenes between BP spidey and cap and iron man if any of those 4 fight each other you know it will be an epic fight.

Hmm I like the idea of Spidey and BP sort of being equal parts on opposing sides of the argument. I could see Spidey switching from Tony to Steve too like in the comic. I'm not too sure about Peter secretly helping Steve all along though, it seems a bit too dishonest for the character of Peter Parker.

TheManWithoutFear- he could have admired both men and initially sided with tony but later after seeing what tony has done joins cap who he also admires. anyway there is so much they could do and the idea of BP fighting spiderman gives me chills cos it would be so cool, and the challenge for BP would be to beat spidey/get him out of the suit without killing him

SuperheroFan96- agreed and i think that this does that pretty good, plus how epic would spidey vs BP be (even if it's the iron spider suit in control and not spidey)

i hope the russos do something similar now.

Thumbs up. I like you have been concerned Spiderman's inclusion would be at the expense of the BP. Having the fight is perfect.

@kinghulk first, i think that would be awesome to have happen in the movie but a couple of questions
1 who do you picture playing spiderman
2 besides Cap, Iron Man Black Panther, Falcon, Natasha , Winter Soldier, and Spidey are there any more heroes you would like to make an appearance
kinghulk
kinghulk - 2/14/2015, 1:22 AM
MyNameIsKhan- i would probably include everyone that Npamusic has included, it would be nice to see Quake and mockiningbird join with coulson and i would inculde the netflix show characters like daredevil. i would also include team ant man Pym, lang and wasp and then just some minor background roles for some heroes just to bring them into the universe like perhaps cloak and dagger or some villians such as radioactive man, venom or dethlocke. and perhaps captain marvel could make her first appearance?

yea @kinghulk @npamusic I definitely hope they bring the Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist to the big screen (both possibly in Civil War and in the forseeable future). Hawkeye would be another great addition; as would Vision. I M sure Baron Von Strucker will have a prominent role in the movie, as will Crossbones but we'll see

MyNameIsKhan- the only problem i have is i struggle to see any of the avengers actually joining tony over cap.

i can see hawkeye, falcon, widow (on tony's side as a spy for cap), luke cage, panther, spidey, daredevil, iron fist, scott lang on caps side along with minor chracters getting introductions in back ground roles like cloak and dagger or firebird and others like hulking.

i can see vision, war machine, hope van dyne as wasp, pym, captain marvel (if they introduce her in the film), maybe hulk, maria hill, deathlok, quake, mockingbird and perhaps the rest of coulsons team and minor heroes/ villians like penance/speedball, radioactive man, nighthawk and maybe even the return of batroc and crossbones. all of these i can see joining tony.

The14thAvenger

I agree that spidey shouldn't be taking any of bp's Thunder. Despite loving your inclusion for spidey I can't believe that anyone in the MCU would really be fighting to have Spidey on their side. I mean yes he's awesome but BP is the king of his nation and a man of influence and power, it makes sence that cap and tony would be fighting over him, but unlike in the comics spiderman is an unknown newbie in the MCU and I feel it needs to build a reputation up with the other MCU characters. It's not like cap or Tony can just recruit a bunch of heroes we havent seen before and we accept it like we would in the comics, not yet anyway. I feel that although we definitly don't need another spiderman origin, I would like his intro to the MCU not just to be a shoe horn just for the sake it. I'm thinking maybe just save him for the post credits scene and then wait for his first solo film. I'm rambling now so I'm sure I'll expand my ideas and thoughts in an editorial.

kinghulk - 2/16/2015, 8:39 AM
The14thAvenger- im not suggesting any one fight to have him on their side just he is recruited by tony in this example then turn on him. i imagine both sides will have a core group of characters that the story focuses on. spidey basically plays the part of stabbing tony in the back at the end and also gives panther a potentially awesome fight.

"It's not like cap or Tony can just recruit a bunch of heroes we havent seen before and we accept it like we would in the comics, not yet anyway."
i think marvel can do this as long as they arent front and centre like the x men films have some mutants that just have background roles in one film that gets expanded upo in the next (ice man and Pyro in X1 for example). so they can have some generic super powered charceters in the background and some heroes like cloak and dagger in the background that potentially would get more attention later.
