Actress Lynda Carter has a message for Megan Fox: Stop ragging on Wonder Woman!
The 59-year-old former television superhero stopped by “Fox and Friends” to promote her new album, but took a few minutes to chat about the new series in development from “Ally McBeal” producer David E. Kelly.
But when host Brian Kilmeade brought up the possibility of Megan Fox, 23, stepping into Carter’s boots, the actress had a bone to pick with the suggestion.
“Megan Fox actually kind of trashed Wonder Woman,” Carter said. “She said she thought it was dumb, like ‘what’s the big whoop making people tell the truth.’ I like her, I just thought she shouldn’t trash Wonder Woman.”
Last year, when rumors began circulating that Fox was under consideration for the role, she told the London Times that Wonder Woman was a
“lame superhero.”
“She flies around in her invisible jet and her weaponry is a lasso that makes you tell the truth,” Fox said.
“I just don’t get it. Somebody has a big challenge on their hands whoever takes that role but I don’t want to do it.”
But Carter says she is excited at the prospect of Kelly developing the series.
“He’s great at the underlying comedy and character development,” she said of Kelly.
“I spoke to him several weeks ago and he is perfect for it because he will really give the characters life. It’s not just going to be a cartoon or a comic book thing, which is really what I think we tried to do.”
But she played coy as to whether or not she would be in the show, saying simply, “I don’t know.”
