SCOOP: 'Scarecrow' Comes To GOTHAM In Feb 2nd's Ep - "The Fearsome Dr. Crane"

We've received word that the classic fear-inducing Batman villain will make his debut in the fourteenth episode of Fox's Gotham, though we don't know who'll be playing him yet. We do have some details on the ep itself though, so click on have a look.

It seems Jim Gordon's first case after being reassigned to his old position with the GCPD will be a doozy! CBM can exclusively reveal that in the February 2nd episode of Fox's Gotham, he and Bullock will be hunting down "a killer who targets victims with severe phobias". Sound like someone we know? The title of the ep is "The Fearsome Dr, Crane", so you shouldn't need too many guesses. Yes, the Scarecrow will make his presence known in a couple of weeks, but we didn't get word on which actor would be playing him unfortunately. The rest of this instalment deals with Fish Mooney attempting to turn Maroni against the Penguin by spilling a secret, and Bruce taking Gordon to task for failing to solve his parents' murder. We'll keep you posted if and when any more information comes to light.

They stated a couple months back that Dr. Crane's dad would be the original Scarecrow and then he would take up the mantle from him.

Knowing this series, he's probably going to be a mild mannered couch salesman at Big Sandy's who is addicted to pain pills prescribed to him by his dentist after a root canal.

Is anybody else getting annoyed at the fact that instead of a pre-Batman show were getting a Batman show with no Bat? By the time Bruce grows up all of his foes will be in a wheelchair. I dunno...I like the show but it's wearing thin.

Gus...they did a slightly bullshit version of Grundy on Arrow. But they imply that he eventually becomes big ugly zombie Grundy later.

-_-

So Scarecrow's father will be the first Scarecrow. Just like Black Mask's father was the first Black Mask. How incredibly convenient that both of these prominent Batman villains were actually just imitating their fathers, so that this prequel series set while Batman is still ten years old can have some sort of familiar antagonists in it.

... Hey, is anyone else getting the idea that this is one of the STUPIDEST, MOST HACKNEYED COMIC BOOK TELEVISION SHOWS EVER MADE?!?

(And believe me, in a category that includes Birds of Prey and Smallville, that's saying a LOT.)

I've been watching Frasier lately, so when I read "Dr. Crane" I pictured Kelsey Grammer.

Series is great. It's like people expect that their favorite villains never had a childhood? Grow up.

At least this isn't Agents of Sh*t.

Can't be many more Batman villains to shoehorn into this show.

Can never understand why people who don't like a particular show would waste their time by jumping to the full article, then blast the show in a rant. If I see a link to an article about a show I hate, I don't give it a second thought. I move on to the next article. Time is too precious folks. I got an idea. (whisper) Don't watch the show and don't let it bother you that you don't like it.

@allthegothamhaters! I think it's badass that gotham shows us the origins of all the Batman villains. @Retrofit I loved seeing young Darth as Annie and young Boba feet n all that stuff. I love to know how things all started and came to be. Yes the mystery is cool and all but also solving mysteries is cool too. I for one love the show and all the Easter eggs So what if the villains are copying their parents. It's Gotham people everybody is crazy even the family of the villains. You guys got to remember these aren't people with superpowers, they are regular citizens and people just don't go crazy for nothing there's always a reason. I hope this show has to have 3-5 seasons at least.

I want to like Gotham more than I do. It had/has so much potential to be great, but it's making me skeptical midway thru season one.
I write had potential because I wish the series began before Bruce Wayne was born, so we got to know Thomas and Martha Wayne! Show us all the things the Waynes did to improve and preserve Gotham. Make us care about the Waynes, before Bruce is even in the picture. For this reason I wish it was set in the 60s, 70s, 80s or even 90s rather than present day. After one or two seasons, advance the present-day timeline forward five years or a decade. It would allow the writers to advance the present timeline to show how characters, relationships and Gotham changed/evolved over a long period of time, whilst only focusing on the highlights or important stuff. Also to get to the Wayne's murder because it's the turning point in Gotham's decline. But getting to know the Waynes will make viewers care about them when they're murdered. Maybe even show us from the mob perspective, why/what made them come to the decision the Waynes needed to be murdered. They could still keep their mystery of who killed them if they so choose.

I don't want or need to see Bruce Wayne, Alfred, Catgirl every episode, yes all three have appeared in all 22 episodes so far. Give them something to do in the background or off screen/between the panels. A handful of times a season is more than plenty, like Ivy who's been in six episodes. It feels like they're for fan service more than anything else. Less is more for this guy, but I realize being a TV series, they're only guaranteed the current season so they want to put their best front, including stories/character, forward now because later is not guaranteed.

I'd be more than content if Gotham focuses on Gordon, Penguin, the mob war, Bullock, Nygma (but less or more subtle winks at him becoming the Riddler) and Barbara (with a purpose and character develop, she's like Laurel Lance.) Let those characters find and establish themselves, let them develop.

Of course, these are just my thoughts and opinions. I don't even believe that was direct towards me, I just felt compelled to get that off my chest. Hopefully it's all for naught being that this is only halfway thru season one and they could address my qualms or become better to the point I can overlook my few gripes/nitpicks. A lot of my favorite shows didn't hit their stride from their pilot, so I intend to give it a fair chance. Just initially, I have a few reservations about the show and the direction it's headed.

"Is anybody else getting annoyed at the fact that instead of a pre-Batman show were getting a Batman show with no Bat?"
finally someone said it,if they had the guts and the intelligence to make this series like a prequel to gotham central/year one, focus on the gotham mafia and corruption, it would still have enough material to make a great tv show but they choose to go the cheap way and shoehorne the batsy villain galore just for name sake and noise.
ridiculous.
