If you were left feeling a tad confused after the Secret Wars reboot announcement yesterday, never fear, Marvel have just made the whole thing even more convoluted! It looks like we'll be getting 3 separate tie-in mini-events in the buildup to this universe altering event, the first of which will be Last Days. It seems we'll get to see how certain Marvel characters spend their last moments. Here's the teaser image and press release for you to take a look at... personally I'm not even bothering to wrap my head around the whole thing just yet!

The skies go dark and the world begins to fracture. Secret Wars is coming, and with it the destruction of the Marvel Universe as we know it. Today, Marvel is proud to announce LAST DAYS, the first of three different types of series taking place during the upcoming, highly anticipated Secret Wars!

“What would you do if you learned today was your last day on Earth?” says Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso. “That’s the question your favorite Marvel heroes are going to ask themselves in their LAST DAYS story lines as they brace for Secret Wars and the end of the Marvel Universe.” Battleworld is set to transform the Marvel Universe as you know it. But before Secret Wars can begin, this chapter may come to a close. What will our heroes do with their final hours? What secrets will be unearthed? Who will they want to spend their LAST DAYS with?

“LAST DAYS is the first of three new brandings for series unique to Secret Wars,” says Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel. “Each branding will bear its own unique trade dress and logo treatment, clearly defining its relationship to the main Secret Warsstory. This will make it easier for fans to experience the full scope of Secret Wars. Don’t dare miss these epic tales as our heroes face their impending obliteration!”

Before Secret Wars can begin, the Marvel Universe must end. And it all starts this May as the entire planet faces their LAST DAYS!

Wanna know why this sounds so much better then any DC reboot? Cuz Marvel has been leading up to it for years. DC just did it to correct some errors

So this is what I've summarised from all the info we have dating back to 2005. The Marvel universe is being destroyed due to the constant abuse of the time space continuum over the years (Kang, Beast bringing the past Xmen to the future, Spiderverse) which lead to the incursions of parallel Earths and the only ones left will be the 616 universe and the Ultimate universe. The characters from these worlds (and others) will duke it out in Battleworld and the result will be the merging of the 616 and Ultimate universe. I think what this means is that Marvel can now create a universe by picking and choosing the best elements of each universe. For example adding Ultimate Nick Fury, Miles Morales, a super strong Cap etc. Or getting rid off things they don't like for example Ultimatum.

Its not a reboot like New 52. Its a combining of Universes and a fresh start.

This is all propaganda for Miles Morales to be in the 616

@Snooper yeah, cause doing what DC did (shitting on every character except Batman) is the way to go...

@snooper I don't recall ever making that bet. Screencap it or whatever.

This is more akin to Crisis On Infinite Earths, except we don't know if Marvel are going to still have a multiverse at the end of this.

By the looks of it, they won't. I'm super excited for this!!!

Yeah, Trudy's logic holds water....New 52 wasn't a reboot. Pandora just "readjusted the timeline." Like JJ Abrams' Star Trek reboot continuation.
