Another 'Cyclops' Potential Plays Coy About His X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Involvement
Now that we know Kingsman: The Secret Service actor Taron Egerton won't be playing a younger Scott Summers, could one of the other 2 rumoured contenders have nabbed the role? Sounds like Ben Hardy is still in the running anyway...
None of the three actors said to be in the running (that we know of anyway) to play a younger version of Cyclops in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse are exactly what you'd call household names yet, but Ben Hardy will be least familiar... to US audiences at any rate. In the UK and Ireland he's been appearing on our screens every week since 2013 in the popular soap, Eastenders. Now the BBC have already confirmed that Hardy will be leaving the show at the end of his current contract, but does that mean his next role following that will be Cyc?
Backstage at the National television Awards last night Digital Spy asked the young actor if he'd be joining the cast of the next X-flick. "Er, sorry? Oh well, that's the rumour," he replied, before adding a slightly more telling: "Nothing guaranteed though." Now obviously even if he had won the part he wouldn't say, but that at least sounds like he's still in with a chance. The actor we haven't heard from yet is Mud's Tye Sheridan, but at this point there could well be several other potential Scott Summers out there that we just haven't heard about yet. Anyway, who would you like to see play Cyclops out of these three?
