GAME OF THRONES: Prepare For Some Surprising Deaths In Season 5
Major characters buying the farm in HBO's Game Of Thrones is nothing new, but up until now book readers had the luxury of knowing when each death was coming. Last night at the WGWA Awards, George R.R. Martin suggested we should be ready to be taken out of our comfort zone in season 5!
A while ago actress Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) told us all to prepare for a lot more blood and death in the fifth season of Game Of Thrones (not exactly surprising), with an event or two that'll be "perhaps even more shocking than the Red Wedding." That might seem like a bold statement, but now the author of the Song of Ice and Fire saga may have backed Miss Turner up. George R.R. Martin was a surprise guest at the Writers Guild West Awards in LA last night, and told those in attendance that they probably shouldn't get too attached to their favourite characters. “People are going to die who don’t die in the books, so even the book readers will be unhappy," he warned. "So everybody better be on their toes. David and D.B. are even bloodier than I am.” This actually already began last season with the death of Jojen Reed who is still alive and kicking in the novels, but by the sounds of things we're in for some more shocks come April. Surely the likes of Tyrion and Arya are safe... right? There's more from Martin at the link below.
