Colin Firth Could Return For The KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE Sequel

Matthew Vaughn's deliriously entertaining adaptation of Mark Millar's comic is currently performing very well at the Box Office so a sequel is likely. Will Colin Firth's character be back? Click on to find out what the director has to say about that, but beware of major SPOILERS.

Seriously, if you haven't seen the movie yet you are advised not to read any further... okay?

Last chance!

So, after an insane action sequence inside a church sees Colin Firth's Harry Hart dispatch pretty much an entire congregation of religious fanatics (in the most violent ways possible), the disorientated Kingsman agent wanders outside only to be shot in the head by Samuel L. Jackson's hemophobic villain, Valentine. It's a shocker no doubt, but is Hart really dead?

During an interview with USA Today director Matthew Vaughn hints that Firth, at least, might be returning for the planned sequel. “A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel but I’m coming up with ideas at the moment," he revealed. "If people buy tickets in America, I’ve got a feeling we’ll figure out a way for having Colin back.” Now he only said Colin, not Harry, so is it possible we could see Firth in a different role? Or maybe just a flashback? In the type of spy/gadget/sleight-of-hand type world the movie establishes it's possible he's simply not really dead -- after all we never see a close up of his body after the shot drops him. Whatever they cook up, it'll be great to see Firth back in action. More from Vaughn at the link below.

Why would anyone in their right mind have "fun" from such violence?

It's disturbing and disgusting.

Im hoping Valentine aimed for his eye and that those glasses of his were also bullet proof...he has the opportunity to be one of the few distinguished assassin agents tl ever appear in film...With Sam Mendez and Daniel Craig it's highly unlikely we'll ever get action on the level of Action in that church scene, what a pitty

Malakas, it's satire. That scene was purposefully as OTT and violent as Vaughn could make it, and the fact that it was a church full of Westboro Baptist types being massacred? You're not supposed to take it too seriously. I loved it.

Maybe they can do a cameo where they have his body stuffed and he's holding his stuffed dog Mr. Pickles.

That would be some funny shit.

Kingsman was stellar, and for anyone offended by the violence:

Hit up Jim Carrey, I'm sure you guys'll get along just fine.

With that being said, I think it's pretty farfetched that Firth could come back.
