RUMOR: Chris Pine Is Once Again Linked To GREEN LANTERN Role

A short while ago we heard that Warner Bros. may have already cast an actor to play Green Lantern in their burgeoning cinematic universe, and though at the time all signs pointed John Stewart wearing the ring, if this latest rumor turns out to be true we might just be seeing Hal Jordan again.

Last month, Latino review's El Mayimbe said he'd heard Warner Bros. had settled on a new actor to play Green Lantern in the DC Cinematic Universe, and that it was looking like it would be the John Stewart incarnation of the character. Well, now he's offered an update, and the name he's heard "floating around" is Star Trek actor Chris Pine. "The name I keep hearing & floating around, is Chris Pine for Hal Jordan. Yes, Captain Kirk. Again, this is still just a RUMOR hence UNCONFIRMED. Been hunting this one for a while so the search is still ongoing."

This makes it sound like a decision hasn't been finalized yet, but perhaps an official announcement is near. Pine was actually in the running for this role back when Ryan Reynolds was cast as Green Lantern and his name has popped up several times since, so it makes sense that the studio would still have him in mind. If he does wind up playing the character in this new batch of films, would you be okay with Hal Jordan again or were you hoping for Stewart? Let us know what you think in the usual place.

I would not mind this at all.. Hope at least the search for Hal is true (unless they have found him in Dan Amboyer as speculated)

He's been a lot of people's pick for Hal I think. He acts, looks and sounds like Hal Jordan. So I'd be all for it.

I wouldn't mind him in the role but I would like to see him in a different role because Hal would similar to his Kirk.

Great casting if this turns out to be true! But it's just a rumor for now so I won't get too excited

People may say he is not an inspired choice, but there is no arguing he is a great fit for Hal Jordan

Is this like the Jake Gyllenhal for Rick Flagg "RUMOR" a month ago?

@Dev7

Because he really just have one steady paycheck at the moment which is Star Trek! The only other really big role is in Into The Woods and for my understanding he will probably not return for a potential sequel

Chris Pine does funny pretty well actually. He's got good timing.

I think it's a great role for him, but I hate the character of Hal Jordan.

ideally this DCCU will have multiple green lanterns, its easy enough to say that Hal has been around for years, but hes been off world for some time

I hate Hal Jordan because Gusto has a sexual attraction to the character.

It's as simple as that.

@Desstroke

He has been spot on with the Suicide Squads at the moment, and he has far more hits then a certain butthurt child like Faraci when it comes to DC Comic.
