THE DARK KNIGHT Tops Empire's Greatest Superhero Movies List
7 years after its release, Christopher Nolan's second Batman flick is still coming out on top of most publicly voted "best of" polls, and Empire Magazine's 30 greatest Superhero movies of all time list is no different. Click on to find out what else made the top 10.
Though technically it doesn't actually feature any super-powered characters, many consider Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight to be the best superhero/comic book movie ever made, and Empire's most recent list of the 30 greatest cape-flicks would seem to confirm as much. The fact that the 2008 Batman epic came in at #1 on their publicly voted poll is a testament to how highly it's still regarded.
Apparently it won by a fairly wide margin, but chasing it for the top spot at #2 was Bryan Singer's X-Men 2/X2, followed by Superman II at #3, Marvel's The Avengers at #4 and the first Superman at #5. Some of the rest of the movies in the top 10 are bound to stir up plenty of debate! We have Spider-Man 2 at #6, Batman Returns at #7, Unbreakable at #8, Watchmen at #9, and one of the most recent on the list, Guardians of the Galaxy at #10.
