SUICIDE SQUAD: Is This Another Pic Of Jared Leto's 'Joker' On Set?

An image is doing the rounds that appears to be a spy photo taken from one of the monitors on the set of David Ayer's Suicide Squad. It may not be the real deal, but if it is it confirms that the Joker will have more than one look in the movie! Click on to see what you make of it...

Real image of Leto's Joker or a well-made fake? We're trying to source the pic now, but if it does turn out to be real it confirms that at some point in Suicide Squad the character will sport the classic lipstick grin he seems to be missing in the officially released shot. What do you think?

Suicide Squad stars Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jay Hernandez as (we assume) El Diablo, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Viola Davis will play Amanda Waller and Common has an unspecified role. The movie is currently shooting and is set for release on August 5, 2016.

And that "Damaged" tattoo was photoshopped.

I don't know what to believe. All I know is I love Leto as Joker and the hair color looks great.

Thinking more and more, I think that photo yesterday may have been a trick. Joker's birthday isn't April 24th, it's April 25th. I think we will be getting something today perhaps him in a suit for his birthday.

Or one of Robbie in a Harley birthday suit.

Fond this about 30 minutes ago! I hope it's real because those eyes are menacing and his look is scary.

@LEVITIKUZ

I hope so, if it was just a joke, then bravo DC, haha

But, yeah, I want Harley to be Harley too, I was really hoping we might see Joker manipulating Harley when she's still a shrink too

I hope Harley doesn't have a bunch of piercings and shit....

Hopefully we get some real news and a new pic today

If you look at that other leaked photo of him in a suit, this one looks like he's wearing a white suit also. Perhaps from the same scene just different shots of it.

@DrKinsolving

I read a fan theory that says the reason for the "damaged" tat was for Joker to kind of guilt Harley into thinking he can't be fixed you know? I don't like the Damaged tat (really my only problem) but that would be Jokerish and a neat idea if true.

And when it comes to Harley's design, I want Arkham Knight Harley.

It's just perfect for her in the Skwad and with Mistah J.

That tattoo was photoshopped though. Look at the pixels.

Rumor is the picture released yesterday will differ vastly from the final product and was only released to pay homage to Joker's anniversary. So the tats aren't the real deal. Either way, I'm perfectly fine with the look. Plus, this times 100:

I don't know anything about photoshop.

I think the tattoo's were just for the anniversary. Each tattoo represents something in Joker's history (Hahaha, dead robin, Damaged, the smile).

Yeah the official image was clearly for promotional purposes.
I don't think that's what we'll actually get.

I don't mind either way he still looks creepy as hell.
The Joker has had tattoos before

Remember when everyone was beating on All-Star Batman, and how horrible it was? Well, the people reposting the Tooth fairy Joker pic apparently forgot people said that was stupid too, and please "do you read comic books?" people, does the Joker have Tattoos now? No. So stop trying to validate bad ideas with bad, rejected comic book continuity.

Maybe, true, but yeah, I really don't like the damaged tattoo, or the tattoos in general, haha

I am just asking myself what difference it makes if it was photoshopped or not. Ayer tweeted it so its definitely the portrayal they approve. Which is [frick]ed up.

I hope the filmmakers take into account the mixed reaction and tone it down a little. This looks good to me. It looks like joker.

I see the Sh*t storm this has created and it tells me that us, as comic book fans have trouble reading between the lines. firstly, I want to comment on what people seem to believe is a “faithful” adaptation of the fictional character known as the Joker. Sans his white face, green hair and purple , he has never been depicted in one definitive way. We have had a Noir style Joker(pre crisis, TAS, Nicholson), the actual comedian turned murdering psycho(The Killing Joke, Long Halloween), The resurrected, shakespearean Joker(The Dark Knight Return) and his younger self which was a physical roadmap of chaos with his tattoos and scars(all star batman). In recent times, we have a joker that has carved his own face off(as a joke mind you) and now sports a fade lol. I mean hell, He was dressed like Hunter S. Thompson in arguably one of his most iconic comic scenes(The Crippling of Barbara).

So please, please tell me what the definitive Joker is.

Now I would like to elaborate on Leto’s unveiling. His frame certainly is consistent with that of TDK’s and All Star Joker. But look at the Hair. I feel that if his hair was longer, it would peek through the fingers. Therefore, I believe his hair may be a nod to Scott Snyder’s recent(and enjoyable, for me at least) run of Batman. The mouth, more specifically, his teeth, make sense. In this universe the Joker is apparently the only person who has spent significant time with batman. He has had to take blows from a 6’4/6’5 – 250 pound man for possibly twenty years. This deranged, sadistic man has irked and possibly ruined Batman’s life over the past twenty years or so, especially if the rumors about a Robin being dead is true. Think about that for a moment. This Joker is wiry and athletic. And do we really need to presume that he is a criminal mastermind? if the unconfirmed leak of him having a conversation with Waller while doing standing push-ups are true, then we should know what kind of conniving psycho we are dealing with here. Everything the Joker does is for a reason – EVERYTHING.

That being said, on to the tattoos. I will offer two theories for this. The first one, as many of the other readers have theorized, this could just be an anniversary homage accomplished through some tongue in cheek photoshopping. Now for a theory that will make us think a bit more about this eventual suicide squad film and maybe the solo batman outings.

- If the Joker is the only villain to have met significant time fighting batman, then that means there were no other criminals like the Joker before hand. Batman, in how ever long his service has been for, has most likely dealt with the mob, killers in the mold of a Victor Zsas or perhaps even a deadshot. So perhaps Gotham, with it’s inexperience with people like the Joker(who is really like him mentally?) sent him to a prison first, ala Blackgate. So lets say he goes to blackgate and gets his tattoos there(Maybe from El Diablo, Maybe from Jim Parricks character if he is not death stroke, maybe just from a cast extra), then murders his tattoo artist and several officers in the violence that comes out of it, causing Blackgate to deem him insane and send him to (Hugo Strange’s?) Arkham Asylum, where he meets a Harleen Quinzel say, five or ten years before the events of Batman Vs Superman. Amanda Waller, Knowing that Batman has a symbiotic relationship of sorts with The Joker, needs him to get Batman. So she goes to Arkham , talks to Hugo Strange, then Joker himself and lets him know that the Bat is back and that he will be moved to Bella reeve(In a HANNIBAL LECTER STYLE, as Ayer and co have referenced) , where Suicide Squad supposedly takes place at. Imagine this tattooed Joker, serious faced and tattooed doing pushups while waller is talking and then she just says something like “Batman is Back” – The Joker stops his pushups, sits down indian style and in complete, campy humor(and again, Lecter style) says “My oh My, The Dark Knight Returns).
