UPDATE: First Official Look At Kodi Smit-McPhee As 'Nightcrawler' In X-MEN: APOCALYPSE
X-Men: Apocalypse begins production today, and rather than wait for some leaked set images to surface, director Bryan Singer has unveiled our first official look at the movie in the teleporting form of Kodi Smit-McPhee as Kurt Wagner, aka Nightcrawler. Check out the Instagram vid after the jump...
We've seen some concept art, but now Bryan Singer has provided our first official glimpse of one of the new characters from X-Men: Apocalypse as the movie kicks off production today. Here is Kodi Smit-McPhee as the younger version of fan-favourite mutant teleporter, Nightcrawler. Kurt Wagner was last seen in the second X-Men movie played by Alan Cumming, and we all wondered if we'd every see the "Fuzzy Elf" return to the franchise. Smit-McPhee was most recently seen in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, but his best performance was arguably in the bleak (but brilliant) adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's The Road. We also have a Tweet from Simon Kinberg to mark the first day of shooting.
Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men: Apocalypse also stars Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Lana Condor (Jubilee), Olivia Munn (Psylocke), Ben Hardy (Archangel), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), with Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), and Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse). The movie will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
