Though they have no idea who he'll be playing, Variety report that Twilight's Alex Meraz (who also starred alongside Jamie Dornan in the British miniseries New Worlds) has joined the cast of Suicide Squad, which is currently shooting in Toronto under director David Ayer. Meraz's character may be a mystery for now, but we do know Academy Award winner Viola David will play Amanda "The Wall" Waller, and a fan managed to get this pic with the actress as she prepared to shoot in downtown Toronto earlier today. As you can see he also met Will Smith (Deadshot), and The Newsroom actor David Harbour who will apparently have a small role in the film.
Who do you think Meraz will play? Suicide Squad also stars Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jay Hernandez as (we assume) El Diablo, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Common also has an unspecified role. The movie is set for release on August 5, 2016.
