More SPIDER-MAN Hopefuls Emerge As Marvel Nears A Decision

It seems the reports of Asa Butterfield being offered the role of Spider-Man in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War were premature, though he's still in the mix along with Tom Holland and four other young actors who tested for the part today in Atlanta. Who are they? Click on to find out...

It seems Marvel is finally preparing to decide on an actor to take over the role of Spider-Man. After a worldwide search and over 1,500 young actors testing, word is the studio has settled on a final six. Asa Butterfield and Tom Holland we know, but according to THR Judah Lewis, Matthew Lintz, Charlie Plummer and Charlie Rowe are also in the mix. If those names are unfamiliar it's because they're all relative newcomers. Lewis has an upcoming role in Jean Marc-Vallee's Demolition, Lintz will be in Pixels, Plummer played Michael Thompson on Boardwalk Empire, and Rowe appeared on Fox's short-lived Red Band Society.

Apparently Marvel will have to decide on someone pretty soon and an official announcement could come early in the week, but, there is also a chance that they won't go with any of the above and keep looking. Out of those six, who would you go with?

There isn't the slightest chance that one of those other "four hopefuls" are landing "Spider-Man" in front of Holland or Butterfield.

Okay, I just looked them up. Man, they really are going young.

Tom Holland is the best-looking pick yet. I would be happy to have him as Peter.

Not going to happen, but imagine this new Spider-Man bombs and all of a sudden Fox does a tackle shouting "MINE!"

Looked them all up on Google. Absolutely terrible except for that Charlie Rowe dude. He looks to be the best choice out of everyone.

I hope it's someone who's name comes out of nowhere like when Ben Affleck was cast as Batman or Jesse as Lex or Leto as Joker.

I just want to be surprised.

I'm not really familiar with any of these choices, but if it is one of these guys, best of luck to them. It will be nice to finally get official casting on this movie. I'd enjoy seeing Norman Osborn again. I personally wouldn't want him to become the Green Goblin, until a few movies into this new franchise.

@StoneHex104 why do you hate Asa Butterfield? Why are you so butt-hurt?

It'd be funny if Charlie Rowe got the part since he played young Andrew Garfield in "Never Let Me Go"!

EXCLUSIVE! MARVEL JUST CAST THIS ACTOR AS THEIR SPIDERMAN:

PERSONALLY, PRETTY EXCITED TO SEE HOW HE BALANCES FIGHTING CRIME AND LEARNING HOW NOT TO SHIT HIS DIAPER.

Just pick Asa Butterfeld, Marvel. It's obvious you want him. Besides, people I've seen on Facebook now think he could fit the role.

@StoneHex104 So that means there are just more petulant fanboys complaining about every casting decision. I assume you hated the news of Tilda Swinton being cast as The Ancient One.
