Terrifying 'Pennywise' Concept Art For Vincenzo Natali's Defunct IT Project
Splice director Vincenzo Natali has been sharing awesome images from several cancelled projects on Twitter, and after the jump you can see some grotesque designs for his take on Pennywise the clown from an adaptation of Stephen King's IT that never got off the ground. Sleep well!
We recently found out that director Cary Fukunaga had left New Line's planned remake (well, re-adaptation) of Stephen King's IT, but apparently all is not lost as the studio is currently searching for a replacement.
As it turns out, Vincenzo Natali pitched an idea for his own take on the horror tale at one point, and you can see some Pennywise concept art from the director (apparently he's responsible for the “not so good” drawings) and artist Amro Attia below. If the clown looks half as terrifying as this in the new movie people might well run from the theater. The last one, in particular, is the stuff of nightmares.
