Reports are coming in that Chris Hemsworth (Thor, the Avengers movies, Snow White and the Huntsman) has been cast in Paul Feig's all-female Ghostbusters reboot as the receptionist. In the original movies that character was the ever-snarky Janine Melnitz (Annie Potts), who was hopelessly smitten with Egon (Harold Ramis) and provided plenty of laughs.
We don't actually have a name for Hemsworth's counterpart, but he'll appear next to Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon as the titular spook-wranglers, and will no doubt ensure they always have enough staples.
You can still catch the Aussie actor in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and he'll next be seen in the new Vacation movie. Feig’s Ghostbusters is set for release in July of 2016.
