Channing Tatum Talks GAMBIT; Confirms No X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Appearance
When we first heard that Tatum had landed the role of Remy LeBeau in Fox's X-universe, the plan was to have him debut in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse. While taking part in a Reddit AMA ("Ask me Anything"), the actor finally confirms that's "definitely" not gonna happen...
Back when word first reached us that Fox was interested in getting Channing Tatum on board as Gambit, producer Lauren Shuler Donner suggested that X-Men: Apocalypse would be the perfect place to introduce him. Once Tatum was officially on board, that still seemed to be the plan of action - but recently the actor stated that a solo outing might be a better option than having the Cajun card-shark debut with the other mutants in a team-based movie. Now, during his Reddit AMA, he finally confirmed that we definitely won't be seeing a Gambit cameo in Apocalypse.
The other day we found out that Rise of The Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt would be helming the Gambit movie, and Tatum also comments on that, before once again expressing their intent to do something different with this character.
Are you glad we won't be seeing Gambit in X-Men: Apocalypse or do you think it's a wasted opportunity to introduce him? Be sure to click the lino below to check out Tatum's very entertaining AMA in full.
