Apparently 'Darth Vader' Will Appear In STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY : ROGUE ONE
We know the Dark Lord of the Sith was active during the movie's time-frame, but most of us felt it might be too much to hope for a live-action appearance. Well, a new rumor suggests that's just what we'll be getting in the Gareth Edwards directed spin-off! Click on for more...
We know Godzilla director Gareth Edwards will helm Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, we know it'll focus on a rogue band of resistance fighters uniting to steal the plans for the original Death Star, and we know that the cast includes (so far) Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Diego Luna, Sam Clafin, Forest Whitaker, and Riz Ahmed. Edwards has also said to expect a much darker journey to the galaxy far, far away; and suggested that this won't be the usual ultimate good VS. ultimate evil type of story.
However, that doesn't mean a representation of ultimate evil won't be a factor, because now we might just know something else about the movie: It'll feature Darth f*cking Vader! BMD has heard that Lord Vader will indeed make an appearance, though by the sounds of things he won't play a huge role in the story.
"Darth Vader will be in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One. He will not be the main antagonist but he will be working behind the scenes, pulling strings and will appear onscreen. Literally, I'm told - he'll be showing up via viewscreen or holo projection or something."
So probably best not to get too excited at the prospect of seeing Vader in his prime, taking out rebel scum with his lightsaber - but a new live-action appearance in any capacity is worth getting hyped about. It remains to be seen if James Earl Jones will return to provide that iconic voice, but he did for Star Wars Rebels so it's definitely a good possibility.
Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One hits theaters December 16, 2016.
