'Doctor Light' Is Coming To Season 2 Of THE FLASH

Arrow fans may remember this character being mentioned as an ex-S.T.A.R. Labs employee in Season 2’s “The Man Under the Hood” episode, and now it's been confirmed that the female incarnation of Doctor Light (Kimiyo Hoshi) will appear as a metahuman on season 2 of The Flash...

After being name-dropped on Arrow, fans may have figured it was only a matter of time before this character showed up on one of the CW's DC shows, and now showrunner Gabriel Stanton tells TV Line that "the female version" of Doctor Light will be debuting in season 2 of The Flash at some point. No actress has been announced for the role yet, but it will almost certainly be Kimiyo Hoshi that she'll be playing.

Though the original Doctor Light was a villain, Hoshi was an astronomer that was introduced as a hero in 1985's Crisis On Infinite Earths #4, having gained her powers from the Anti-Monitor. It remains to be seen how she'll be adapted for the small screen of course.

The second season of The Flash kicks off October 6 on the CW.

I know nothing about the character, but Flash has been great. So this is probably a good addition.

This is cool. I wonder what other characters will show up on this season. It would be great to see other Justice Society members like Doctor Mid-Nite or Hourman to make an appearance. Hopefully with season 2 of Flash showing characters from Earth 2 there'll be lots of new superheroes.

Good thing it isn't the male version because that guy is a pedophile and a rapist. In canon comics he raped Elongated Man's wife and then dressed up women to look like members of the teen titans and went about raping them the character is irredeemable.

Everyone complains about in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise that every villain comes from Oscorp.
Why doesn't anybody complain that most of The Flash's villains came from the particle accelerator

I hope they change this in S2 or I'm not tuning in

I always disliked that she had the same name, and color scheme as the villainous Dr. I like this and do hope she is a hero, and that they do have the villainous version as well, but with possibly a different name.

@PesciGotPepsi

Because the particle accelerator incident is meant to be a pivotal moment in the Arrowverse that introduces metahumans, but even then...that doesn't take away Deathbolt seemingly being a metahuman that was not because of the particle accelerator incident, and it doesn't take away the likes of Captain Cold and Heatwave as well. And S2 will be using Earth 2 in bringing in other villains too.

The reason TAS-M gets its flack is much like Sam Raimi's films where in Raimi's films, everyone has a connection to Peter Parker and in TAS-M 1 and 2, the villains have a connection to OsCorp. It loses any and all originality.
