GOTHAM: First Glimpse Of The Future Batcave

A brand new image from season 2 of Fox's Gotham sees Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Alfred (Sean Pertwee) discovering the "secret lair" that will eventually be used as the iconic base of operations for the Dark Knight. Right now though, it's something else entirely...

In the closing minutes of Gotham's first season, Bruce and Alfred discovered a hidden enclave beneath Wayne Manor, and this new still picks up just after they descend that staircase. Though this hidden chamber is obviously not being referred to as the Batcave yet (after all, Bruce isn't Batman yet) it must eventually become the gadget-packed lair of the Caped Crusader - though nobody is confirming as much for the moment!

Gotham

“It changes everything in Bruce’s life,” David Mazouz explains to TV Insider. “It changes how he sees Alfred, the criminal side of Gotham, even how he sees his parents. It’s definitely not the Batcave. What is down there are clues to Thomas Wayne’s secret life and what he was trying to do before being killed.”

Gotham season 2 premieres Monday Sept. 21, 8/7c, on Fox.

I struggled through the first season. Let's hope the second is better. I may not last long though.

So at this rate, Bruce will be Batman before he hits puberty.

Or Thomas Wayne will have been Batman at one point in the past. Or something stupid like that.

[frick] this show.

Yes, THIS is what I want to see! More of Thomas Wayne's past... How Thomas was an aspiring vigilante or villain? I love this show. David Mazouz is such a great young actor. Season 1 had some issues finding it's feet but I think Season 2 is going to be so much FUN!!!

@Retribution13 what part of "It’s definitely not the Batcave" don't you get?

making bigger mistakes than Smallville did butchering continuity to essentially make a Prequel work instead of upgrading to what people really want. Batman.

I wouldn't mind a few liberties with the source etc if the show was good.

But it isn't.

@Supafairy

The fact that you actually believe this isn't the batcave kinda negates any hope for trying to explain anything to you.
